Watermarking photos that don't really have any potential monetary value is usually just annoying. Just be happy that people are stoked on your pictures. If someone ends up stealing it to use for monetary gain you can still stop them and prove you're the original creator by holding onto the original raw file with your © info in the metadata (or if it's film, you have the negs).

yeah exactly, they're technically just my holiday snaps, and i really dislike it when, as you said, people watermark stuff for no reason. my real concern was just how public tumblr is because i usually only put stuff on fb for my friends to see, but as you said, i have the negs so its okay

I've never been able to make a scan look as good as a gelatin silver print, there's just no way to match the texture and tones digitally. Whenever I think I'm close, I look at the physical print...and I realize how awesome darkroom prints are.

yeah its not just the image quality, they don't even look the same as the prints in terms of the tones etc. which is really annoying cos the prints came out awesome haha

Do all of your shots fade out to being light and low contrast on the bottom like that?

When I started developing my own film it did that. It was because I wasn't using the stalk that goes in the center of the developing tanks so when I took off the cap, light was getting in.

to be honest i think that's just the scanner being a bit rubbish. none of the prints have that, and these were professionally developed as i don't have access to a dark room, so i doubt it was an error like that

my only critique would be that on some of the shots, you simply just caught the skier at the wrong time. like the one where hes like already off the rail and almost touching the ground, and the one with the skier wearing the ns jacket, i guess hes about to spin off the rail but you took the picture at a time when his body just looks awkward

I would rather have the focus on the bird, because I think it's more interesting than the texture on the moss. But to each their own, I guess. I really do like the texture of the moss, though.

Another thing I would try to do for a sequence is get shots off the skier on the lip and as they are about to land. the way you have it now everything is to centered and it feels like you are missing a few key frames

I definitely agree that it should be focused in on the bird, i purposely did the opposite of whats expected just to create an different but still appealing shot

no reason for this to be HDR'ed, you could pull all that detail out of a raw file pretty easily
