The army doesnt want me

so last friday, there was an army recruiter in school during the llunch periods. Now i dont know if they go to your schools too, but whenever they go to mine, they bring free shit. so naturally, the kids love it. so me and my friend ben are hanging out, reflecting on the tacos we just ate, when sargent slaughter comes over and starts getting kids amped on the army by handing out free bens. so he goes to the table in front of us, then behind us, then even across us to the end of our table, but never once talks to us. why is this? because we both have long hair and rock a bandana, headband style. so i guess we look like hippies and the army doesnt want us. i was honestly kind of disappointed, i was looking forward to giving him shit about the war and the army. im still trying to figure out why the hell i would want to kill people because the army gave me a free pen? bullshit man, he is lucky he ignored me. i used to think that if i got called in on a draft, i would just act incredibly gay, now i think im just going to dress like a hippie and forget my shoes at home.

Good point there^ You are definentily over reacting and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't sit there and talk shit to a soldier in the army like you claim you would. He probably did stereotype you, you're right on that, but he was obviously right in his assumption that you were just a waste of time for him. yea i had the canadian army come to my university and just set up a booth...but they weren't walking around handing out free phamplets and pens to coax kids to join the army.

walking around the cafe, i think thats a little much.

yeah the army came too my school in grade 10 ( but the Canadian army) they didnt seem too interested in me either cuz i had dreads, i talked to them i wasnt interested at all. But they seemed to doubt I could do it AKA we dont want you.

i got a recruitment call last week, and the guy asked me my plans for the year, and i said i was leaving school and having people pay for me to travel the country and ski..his exact response was "well shit, im not gonna lie, that sounds like alot more fun then basic training"

i didn't read any of the posts besides the very first one, but haha i would like to see you argue with an army recruiter about the war, and why you should not fight for your country. i guarantee you he knows the hell of a lot more than you do, and would have made you look like a complete and absolute fool in front of everyone. i say that you're the lucky one.. not him.

a recruiter isnt in war...

just ask him why he isnt training and over in iraq... dont worry they get stunned by these questions.

because the only reason they are talking to you is becasue training was TOO FUCKING HARD and they couldnt take it. so they decited to stay but be a recruiter.

know ur facts and you can own any recruiter.

ask him what boot camp is like, and why he isnt there right now training to serve our country.

ya thats right, they have no good answer but "its too hard for me, im a baby"

the army recruiters know their shit, because they have to be able to answer any questions you little kids can throw at them. any of them that have ever came and talked to me are definitely not clueless as to what is going on and why it's taking place. i can't imagine any recruiter being absolutely clueless like you say they are.. and if there really is someone like that it looks to me like they need to be replaced.

im going to basic training this summer and this is how i look at it.... dont agree with me. maybe not even like me... but i still think you should at least show me a little bit of respect cuz weather or not you agree with iraq if someone brought this war home to america you will be the first one crying under the desk beging for us to come help you.
