I ran a 4:55 back in High school. It's nuts that people can break 4:00 minutes like that is so damn fast.

Usain Bolt should try the mile on for size someday

i do high school cross country and my fastest mile time (note this is on a cross country course, and i never actually measured just a mile this is my mile time during a 5k race) is about 6:30

fastest i've ever gone is 7ish minutes. i never really push myself though on that. i can run 3 miles in 19 minutes though

record is 3:47 i'm pretty sure. and to the marathon comment marathons and miles are COMPLETLY different. mile is middle distance basically meaning one long ass sprint. whats even crazier though is the 800

I've never run a mile sub 7:30, and I've never tried. I use 2 miles for a warm up, but I've never had the desire to see how fast I could go.

He's a sprinter, COMPLETELY different. If he ran at the pace that he runs his 100 in, yeah he would have like a 2 minute mile, but NO ONE can do that... sprint for a mile.

Some of you are really fast.  I trained for a while running really hard and my best was 5:24, and I don't think I could ever go faster than that.
