Ok I am getting these bindings I think but what is the deal with them having a stationary heel peice this year rather than the pivot heel peice? Will this increase the chance on knee injury or what? I know it is more efficent edge contact on the snow but ya...big deal.....what the deal here folks?
no it will decrease the chance of knee injury. thats why they redesigned the heel.the pivot heel didnt release @ certian angles-well it did but 2500 newtons and force was required
just get the old style they are better and no worries don't listen to the bullshit above the reason they changed was to save money if you watch they will come back out with the 120 scratch in the old style.
Why would Rossi REDSIGN a product to SAVE money? It seems unrealistic that they would spend possibly hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to redisgn a product and make all new molds, just to save money?
production is a crazy thing. its much cheaper to use the same tracks and brakes as the nova binding (which they do).
the big benefit, in my eyes, of the turntable or pivot heels is the drastically reduced mounting pattern, which livens up the flex of the tail dramatically.
There's a billion pictures on here of pivots and stationaries. mostly because this thread is almost three years old which in turn means solid heel pieces are three years old. and theres like a billion threads on pivots vs. solids. Sooooo yea. look at your thread date.
