Jibbing wooden rails with new skis

Alright, there is this rail at my school... its about a 20 foot wooden rail, probably the same width as a double shotgun, and its slanted down at like a 20 degree angle like a kinked rail... I have brand new candides used once... the problem is me and my friend want to hit it up today since we got all this snow in CT... but im worried that the wood will catch my edges and ill take a digger, what should i do? wax the rail up? or just get some balls and do it?

lean back a bit so you're riding your back edges and you should be good. make sure the wood is wet, because dry wood is very sticky. and if you want you can just take your skis to a cinder block or something to round the edges.

Wax the wood for sure, and make sure its hardwood and not soft stuff. Make sure it's smooth, too; grinding on wood may not seem as bad as on metal, but wood can take nice chunks out of your bases. I fucked up my Volkls my first day out this year.

yeah just grind it with your edges, you shouldnt have a problem. I did a wooden one but it was a 45 degree angle.

if you cover the wood in water and let it freeze it would slide pretty good. Or wax it.

as widde as you could get it, because PVC is very flimsey. you will also want to wax the shit out of it, cause your edges are gonna cut the shit out of it.

think the school might give ya shit if you are out waxing their rails?...let alone grinding them? theres gotta be some metal rails around there somewhere. wood can grab your skis if your not careful especially if you hit a dry spot.

ya ive been hittin up some wooden rails recently cause im in CT too and we have sooo much snow its sick, and i just wax it up a lot and hit it, nothin has happened to my bases or edges so far so im happy, if you wax it then youll probably be good
