how do they measure them

they measure how much of the ski actually touches the snow. for example.. my seth vicious are actually 193 cm long, but only 189cm actually touches the snow.

basically add 4cm so 179=183cm

Actually,
When I measured my 189 Maden's and Vicious they had the equivilent running length to a 182/183 flat tailed ski! my 179 PE had a running length somwhere arround 172/173. The total length I measured tip to tail 189s came to 190/191. I did not measure the 179s. Volkl's come up even shorter!
