Back Country

so the last couple years i have just been carving longruns, doing small spins and last year i started doing back country with blows both of the other thing away but im really not that great at it. i have had some trouble turing in the thick powder. any help?

don't go backseat, the best powder position is ontop of your skis, knees but, athletic power position.

its really just getting comfortable and getting used to it. The faster you ski the more you float. Turns are just to keep you in somewhat control.

try not to turn in the backseat. its not good for your knees or your image.

first off, if you can afford a pair of fatter skis, itll make your life heaven.

second off if you cant do that, try re-mounting your bindings.your position on-top of your skis helps alot.

and thirdly, just ski pow over and over. practice make pefect. iv been skiing pow since i was like 5. mind you, not deep pow or anything steep, but my parents started me out nicely in BC and on xc trails(no pow there). so yea, try to get out every weekend.

for the thicker snow i would say just go faster? but if your in like a tight turn situation that just takes practice practice practice.

just lean back a little so that you float, and just go with it, you don't need to carve hard in powder, it's like skiing on a cloud
