i hope you relise that it won't record onto a minidv tape and i think it records onto a 512 mb memory card which is a very small amount of memory for video.

The only thing i like about it is the remote recorder or w/e they call it, as a helmet cam. But then it records onto digital memory, not DV, and that just blows for video. 512mb? That's nothin when you think about it. Unless every single shot you film is the perfect one that you want, highly unlikely... not to mention the quality is probaly compromised a little bit if I'm not mistaken... but if you're happy with it and it meets your needs then rock on

yes, quality is already compressed as mp4 and it records only onto a 512 megabyte stick, which isnt alot.

uhh the 512MB card is built in. but it still has a slot to input any size you want. so he could add a 2GB if he so desires. then think about that, way more video than a stupid miniDV

oh really then why can i only record 60 min? i wasnt talking about size i was talking about length of video. i believe you it may be 13 GB but still i can only get a max of 90 min off one of those tapes.

You can get a max of 120 mins on a mini dv tape when you shoot in LP mode or whatever, but 60 minutes is enough anyways, and buying many Mini DV tapes is alot better than buying a couple expensive memory chips that don't record as good of quality.

Yea just switch the tapes, they are def way cheaper. If it's recording into mp4 then theres going to be compromised quality... Having one massive long tape/memory card would be a pain anyway.. if you filmed like 300mins (exaggerated i know) of footage it would be a pain in the ass to edit.

The general idea of the cam is cool though, but $1800? I personally would not pay that.

You could get a cheap sony Mini-DV cam off ebay for less than $300, then get a helmet cam from Viosport for $200, and you'd still have a nicer setup for $70 less. Dumbass!
