Need a New Team

Ok I moved here last year and of corse it's ski paridise but I don't really have a team. I know about the southern alberta club but is there any other clubs?!?

I know of a few clubs. There is the steeze ridahz club, but only Joel and Robbie are in that one, then there is P.Crew and all those guys are just sick gnar, and then there is the shotcallers club, which consists of me, its the best club ever.

good call, cop is always a good time and make sure to check out nakiska alot once they get the park up, never crowded and some of the best jumps in western canada!

Red Deer has a good team that doesn't focus on moguls. well there's a few people on it who do moguls. most of us are jumpers though. There's a couple guys from Edmonton on the team so just as far

did you get the $100 deal for a seasons pass at COP? Cuz if you were born in 1988 than you get a seasons pass for 100 hunred dolla. I got mine. I will be thur wednesday nights throughout the winter.

Wow that is an expensive team to join. Why do kids have to register through alberta alpine and not freestyle? I don't get it. That site advertises freeski terrain park training and then pay race memberships. Race teams and coaches know kids don't want to race anymore so now they all become freeski experts. Good on those guys for starting up a new team though.

Andrew T, was that you that said you ski Canyon? Have you ever gone to Bentley Ski Hill aka Medicine Lodge Ski Area. It is a little hill and it is only natural snow, so when it is a good snow year, it is way funner than Canyon. No ice either.

Also, 1983, so you are all young.

You have made good points.

Believe me we tried to go the freestyle route but RCR is strictly limiting who trains on their properties.

so in theory it sounds great to have a freeski team under freestyle...but...its not possible. the race club already has permission to be there. So that is what we are provided with. But as you can see we are offering all aspects of free skiing at a variety of hills...so hopefully we will have a good response. thx for your comments.

As long as you tried...
The rocky mtn freeride team uses freestyle insurence and registration. So for your club( I'm assuming you are part of it) you guys are insured in the park as long as your coaches have freestyle courses?
What about kids who want to do inverts?
As far as I'm concerned both freestyle and alpine governing bodies are not doing a great job in covering aspects of skiing kids are into. Good to see kids have another option on the team front.

That's good. I never said Canyon was good though infact I said it was shitty. If it dumps they'll ussually have all the runs grooomed by the next day. Fuck I hate it

you're on point with all of that.

rmf has riders on the RCR team so they have the in's. we offer competitive freestyle so we aren't in direct competition to them. gotta stay ahead of the game. and yes your right about alpine bodies lacking the organization or realizing where the sport is going. they’re happy with the race & "freestyle" parents dropping mad dollars...but tastes & trends are rapidly changing and we are trying to keep current with that in Alberta....

yes our coaches are certified to take kids in park, pipe, rails etc. Inverts probably not, that is a touchy one. i'll have to clarify that.
