heh, Kazaa-Lite is the way to go... or you could just use newsgroups to get whole CD's at a time, ,but I ain't explaining shit.

dude, you've got it all wrong kzaa sucks. for instanc do a search on kazaa for a type of music-you get like 10 results. on winmx you get like 100

cause kazaa groups the music, so you can download of a bunch of people at once so it goes faster.. whereas minmx, you just download the song off one person at once, like napster was... i think? i've never actually used it

WINmx USED to be tons better than kazaalite.. but the last few months, it has startwed to suck... Kazaalite has much bettr downloading, and many more songs. Kazaalite is the way to go.

if any of you are live on a college/university campus, look for a network sharing program. One was created here at Western called UWGo. MP3s in 6 seconds, DivX movies in about 12 mins.

same with direct connect. you can download a divx movie in about 2 minutes from anyone on campus, or a mp3 in about 2 seconds.. and i'm not exagerating at all.. it trasfers at about 2-7 megs per second.

Ok, why KazaaLite is better than WinMX... There are FAR more users on the Fast Track network (Kazaa, Grokster, Fileshare) Therefore, more peers to trade with, (thats why its called P2P 'Peer to Peer') Therefore much more content. The WinMX client might own, but there isnt NEARLY the same selection.

that must be one fast ass network. on my home network it takes like 20 min to transfer a divx from one comp to another. only gets like 400k sec though

How are you transferring it, and what are you using to transfer, you should be getting like 12megs a second on a normal 10/100 corded ethernet network connection.

the server is busy, and bandwidth is taken up by other things. Our campus generally gets 600-900k per second, but tops out at 1200.
