Hey, im loking for a new camera for filming budget is about three grand, what od u guys recomend?

are you kidding me? $3,000 and you're recomennding a GL2? you're crazy. Get the Panasonic DVX-100A. it's the same cam they used to film some shots in Iannick B's part in Redtape, and some shots in TJ Schiller's part in X=ten. trust me, you're gonna learn fast, and when you do you're gonna wish you had 24p shooting. so get the Panasonic.

you could either get the camera above or get a cheaper camera(gl2) and a really nice tripod

That's alot of money to spend on a camera, you could even go into some of the high definition ones. I'd reccomend something like a Sony VX2100 because I know that they work really well and I haven't heard much about how the high definition ones work yet, they might still have some stuff to fix about them (not sure).

dvx-100a is the way to go. great cam, very superior to GL2 or vx2100

if you really want to get a film like effect on a budget then get any sort of high definition mini dv camera. panasonic ones are fairly easy to use. just remember that movies are shot at 24 fps and that color saturation is in more of a vibrant tone. be sure to use light to your advantage, the sun is the best source of backlight. don't go for the smaller camcorder, you want a big one because the bigger the camera, the bigger the ccds.

uh GL2s and VX2100s are both around $2,000. GET THE PANASONIC DVX-100A. it's soooo sick.
