I believe it was Adidas that owned Solomon. And Solomon was sold to the group that owns Atomic, not actually Atomic itself.

NO. Salomon did not get bought by Atomic. Salomon is 4 times larger than Atomic.

Salomon got bought by Amer Sports.

adidas has owned them for a long time. I bought a whole bunch of salomon shit thru my store last winter and it showed up on my bill as adidas... you fucking idiots.

Adidas did own salomon

Amer buys Salomon in £328m deal

SALOMON, the ski and snowboard equipment division of adidas-Salomon, was yesterday sold for €485 million (£329 million) to Amer, the Finnish sports goods company.





The deal will create a company with annual sales of €1.7 billion and 6,800 employees, and will combine Salomon’s Mavic, Salomon, Arc’teryx, Cliché and Bonfire brands with Amer’s Wilson, Suunto, Atomic and Precor labels.

The sale, which must still be approved by regulators, comes weeks after Rossignol, the French ski maker, was sold to Quiksilver, the US surf and snowboard fashion group. Analysts said sporting goods companies were being forced to consolidate to avoid becoming too reliant on one sport.

Adidas-Salomon, which will go back to being called adidas, has been under pressure to sell the underperforming Salomon.

haha, cool. maybe salomon will have to start building QUALITY stuff like atomic. and you people are dumb. salomon is a brand name. it isnt hard to beleive that another owner bought them out. atomic may be a less popular name IN THE US, but atomic is much more successful world wide (why atomic isnt getting sold, while salomon is.)

The facts to clarify.

1. Adidas use to own Salomon.
2. Adidas just sold Salomon
3. Salomon was purchased by Amer Sports
4. Amer Sports owns Atomic
5. Salomon is still nearly 4 times bigger than Atomic financially wise.
6. Salomon will still be Salomon, not Atomic.

and before that they where owned by george salomon and after that his son and the french state,.
