are many people doing butters these days? i know thall does one in happydays but are anyothers doing them...peter lines in true life are fresh, we need to go for some butter style...i know im going to bust out some butter this season.

its like slinding sideways into a jump or rail, you have to have maaaaaaaad speed to do it, and i think snowboarders do em sideways, with nose/tail press, its pretty cool, doesnt work as well for skiing i dont think...

you can also do them off atbles or little cliffs like tanner does in happydayz...comes in switch does a little cab to manule then pops a 3 off the drop...snowboarders come switch or regular do a 180 land tail press and then spin off the lip

I noticed that Shannon Schad does a trick in the half-pipe where the last rotation seems to be done while on the wall. Does that count as a butter?

you can't butter out of a trick, thats just how he landed, and even if he was trying to do that it would be called a revert.

this summer we were doing butter halfcabs to pop 90 onto the rails (so kinda like switch 270s).

its just really awkward at first. i just starting messing around on the snow last year before itook it to the rails. i would just try to butter around and then ollie. once you get them though its not that hard to balance, i guess its kinda like any other trick...
