How big a gap?

How big of a gap do you guys think you would try? Do you like how gaps just keep getting bigger and think thats plenty interesting or would you rather see some new original crap? Just wondering

60-70ish if someone else hit it b4 me and the speed was consistant and it had a big landing and my knee wasnt fucked

i would totally try chads if i was with somebody that did it first. i always gotta see people do shit before i go. i'm a pussy in that way, but i find it's smarter. but yeah, chads for sure. that would be ill.

Chads. Theres no real speed calculation. Lands in powder. Just go as fast as you can right? However i don't think i would be able to hit it switch or spin... just straight air... or maybe. Pyramid for sure.

yea cuz i mean overshooting chads in 4 feet of powder is pretty much like floating on clouds. (sarcasm) it would obviously hurt like a bitch, your not just gonne get up and walk away from that.

I don't think it's possible to overshoot chads... unless you had a tow in. You have to be goin freakin fast... as fast as you can otherwise i guarentee you wouldn't make it... hell you gotta go pretty damn fast for a 30 footer let alone chads.

ok than i'm provin wrong but i can only tell so much from the photos and short videos i've seen. Still a long landing though... not really overshooting if you land downhill.

hehe its my first year, but i owuldnt be too uncomfortable doing like a 40 or 50 footer, the biggest ive done is probably about 30 or 35

ok, well landings are made to land high, like top half on them for the best landing, if u land past 1/2 or 3/4 its overshooting cause it usualy hurts, if it hurts, u overshot

I love all the people who say they would hit chad's. Wait till you stand on top of the inrun before you make that call. Pyramid on the other hand isnt that bad (roughly 90 feet) but if you come up short you'll prolly die. The landing for pyramid goes on for days, chad's landing is steep and drops off fast into a gulley

There is a step up gap at Snow Basin that was measured at 120ft that is 100x sketchier than Chads. The jump for it is like 25ft tall and then you are going like 55-60mph to be able to make it.


But yeah, there hasn't been many people to hit it, and those who have, all ate it on it.

if its a pow landing I'd probly try a 70-80 foot step down and any huge step up but as for chads I'm not sure about that one maybe with a ton of pow and i had a few friends to hit it with

I hit chads in the 03-04. Just did stright air's never stomped the landing, though I came close. It is the sketchest thing I have ever done.

The biggest jump I've hit is like 60 feet, but I over shot a 50ft table by like 30 feet so thats probably more

I've hit chad's and pyramid. You shouldn't let yourself get stuck on how big the gap measures. It's all about how comfident you feel that day. If you question sticking the landing or undershooting, then back down. Most of the time if you just go do it, you'll stick it and gain more confidence. As everyone knows, skiing strong and confident will only help you concore your fears and make you a better skiier. Besides, you can't get hurt in the air.

ive overshot a 50 foot table by at least 30 feet. id hit pyramid if my skis were waxed up nicely. in a super g race, im pretty sure i took at least 70 horizontal feet of air of this step down roller clocked at 98 km/h so a straight air doesnt bug me that much

I've been looking to hit pyramid for a while, I'd say it's closer to 80' than 90'. Stuff always happens so I can't hit it whenever I go up there, though. (i.e. my friend going first and smashing his face so we spend the whole afternoon just trying to get him out of there safely/make sure he's okay.

^ Haha! Dude, you don't need to be in the World Cup to catch serious air like that in a race. My friends on ski team did a race with a step-down and they where easily going 50-60ft. out.

i've done an 80 ft table, so as long as the pow was plentiful and i knew where to start from to hit it right (or see someone go first), I'd definitely try pyramid
