That utter bullshit, SOME of what we do is from rollerblading, don't call rollerblading skating, skateboarding is skating. Look at the direction skiing is headed for at least the next season...its all about smoothness like pollard...and everything pollard does is from snowboarding. Go propose your hybrid shit to Ford, they need help on the Focus.

i hope you're not trying to make skiing into rollerblading, cause look where rollerblading is now, it's so technical you can't even watch it without a dictionary. true skate style is skateboarding, style is where this sport is goin, not topside sole to fishbrain to royal 450 out. hey if you rollerblade more power to you, but skateboarding is where it's at all the basic grabs came from skateboarding, don't forget it

first off the addition of a grind plate to a ski is rediculous, it should never happen. Secondly its not fruit booting and those skiers who still call snowlerblading fruit booting should know that they have made complete fools of themselves, the term fruit boot refers to skates and only skates, to call snowlerblades fruit boots only puts down skiers in the proccess, you see we ware the SAME BOOTS as they do. The word fruit boots should never be used when refering to any winter sport. And nothing in skate boarding has transfered into skiing,the names of every grab and every spin derived from 'fruit booting' and that can't be denied. I can't belive their are so many haters on this board, the three phils all used to skate and same goes for a good amount of the other pro's. Stop confusing snowlerblading with 'fruit booting', snowlerblading is a joke, skating is a respectable sport. Fucking Haters

Hater? Fuck yeah I'm a hater if you guys are going to say that skiings main influence is from rollerblading and not snowboarding...have you seen the direction that skiing is in? Obviously not because it is more flagrant thatn your homosexual tendancies. alpentalik i see on your bio page your favorit trick is a BIO CORKED 180, hahaha, last I herd bio meant the same thing as corked or mabe bio means forward cork but either way your an idiot, I wouldn't expect you to know much about the roots of the sport when you think theirs an acual trick called a bio corked 180, it must be tough to cork backward and then forward while doing a 180.. whoever does those must be good.

oh yes and BIO: another word derived directly from skating.

skiing is not derived from blading. skiing has been around for many many more years than blading has.hybrid i think you have a very creative idea but think about it you have like 5 foot 10 inch skiis doing grinds with a soul plate. it would be hard to do variation grinds with almost 6 foot long skis.

i think wht alpentalik is saying is that the state skiing is in now is trying to be like snowboarding with its style and what not. if skiing ever did want be like blading then it was a long time ago and has already passed

if anything skiing should move as far away from snowboarding and skating combined as posible, skiing should go in its own direction. And i find it hard to belive that snowboarding had as much to do with it as you say...no wait I know it didn't, obeously it has played a part in the proccess but not the uge one your claiming it did.

You two have to be two of the dumbest fuckers ever. Newschool skiing stemed from freestyle and had a heavy snowboarding influence. Just because the motion of skiing is similar to in-line than it is to snowboarding doesn't mean it stems from in-line. Skiboarding stems from in-line; skiing does not. And as far as trick names go....a lot of them come from snowboarding as well as in-line and some are original.
Skiing has been around way longer than in-line and got a kick in the ass from the snowboarding world. And where do you think in-line got it's roots from?......Skateboarding, Roller-Skating, and Ice-Skating. And Snowboarding is even deeply rooted in surfing; not just skatboarding.
When skiing began to evolve a number of years ago, most skiers were concerned with what snowboarders were doing....either by giving them props or hating on them. I skied with about 20 snowboarders and 0 skiers when I was first learning all this new stuff, cuz they were the ones who started the latest newschool wave on snow.
