Has anyone used a tapeless setup for shooting skiing?

using tapes for my cam right now (Canon XhA1) and that is a total pain in the ass, was wondering if anyone had used a tapeless setup, and if so, any issues with condensation/water or cables falling out.

hasnt done terrible so far, coldest ive shot in would probably only be around -10 celcius though, and as i said tapes are a total pain in the ass, not fun to get footagr off those things, would highly not reccomend. cool looking footage though!
