Making Brakes Smaller

I searchbarred and found nothing. But is it possible to make brakes shorter? As in bend them to fit a smaller width ski. My thinking was the if you could remove the small plastic brake end maybe with like a heat source, then you could take that off. Cut them and then bend them to fit a new ski size? I am going to try but I just wanted to know if anyone had done this before.

I've made brakes narrower by bending them straight then bending them back to the needed width with success, but it does make your brakes hang down more. Removing the plastic "stopper" off the brake arm and then reinstalling it isn't really doable. You can try but I doubt you will have success with it...

Basically the same procedure as widening brakes; the specifics will depend on what brake/binding you're using.  I've done it for fks without a problem.

alright that is the binding im purchasing haha. but i might be able to find smaller brakes. so would a L fks brake (90 mm) be pushing it for and 88 mm width ski. basically leaving only 1 mm of clearance on either side

You should be totally fine, the shop tech  might have to tweak them slightly but even then, should be good to go.
