i have to resharpen the edges on mys skis (the ones that arent underfoot) every time after i go skiing because they get all messed and slanted and dull from falling off rails. does everyone else have to do this?

by the way dont detune ur edges underfoot if ur gonna ski more than 10 percent park. its not a good combination with ice

its not as bad as you think. just because they arent razor sharp still doesnt mean that they wont hold an edge. and detuning them underfoot isnt that bad either if you know how to hold an edge.

its tough to hold an edge with centermounted skis, especially on a 100 foot wall of sheer of ice

i have center mounted skis that are detuned under foot. if the sheet of ice is that big you should be able to see it coming and prepare for it. or go down a different run

I am on my school race ski team jsut to go skiing its wicked because all of the others on it are all into the race scene, well on race day my edges were so mess from rails i could hold an edge on the icy parts of the cource i cound finish it was hilarious

ummm a few things... first aren't u use to ice out on the east coast? Also if you detune the edges under foot this will actually save your edges if your doing tons of rails. This will help you because you will actually be sliding more of the base of your ski and less edges... so they won't crack and stuff as much.

But with regard to having to retune your edges all the time... I'm not sure about that, i guess you'll just have to get use to park skis...no edges

yes i am used to ice but last year i rode tms that rarely touched rails ( actually boxes). i guess im just gonna stop tuning my edges

dude, half the people i ride with dont have edges on their skis. it doesnt matter as much as you think. i havent sharpened mine since the beginning of last season either

you dont have to, it just makes it easier to ride and do rails, i just got my skis waxed and edges sharpened and i noticed a big difference

Look, here in Quebec, we slide on very icy slopes, we do rails, and we don't have to "sharpen" our skis every time!

i dont tume my skis up. They are so beat up that the shos probably wont deal with them. They're just edges, you'll still make it down the mountian

I dont like having super sharp edges. When they are dull, they are harder to control, but I think that makes it kind of funner.

I dont do this even how much my edges are fucked/not sharp afte rails etc. the rounder they are the better. wont cath edges on bad rails then
