Mountain Biking

by 123ski
Jul 28th 2011 - 3 comments

Last Saturday I headed up to Deer Valley resort with Ethan Taft.  While the terrain at Deer Valley provides relatively tame and unexciting skiing, the same terrain makes for some of the most fun and exhilarating mountain biking in the state.  The trails are not full of berms and table tops, but rather chunder, baby heads, and shark teeth.  Instead of riding a long with too much travel on a trail as wide as a hummer, [...]

Skiing in July

by 123ski
Jul 4th 2011 - 2 comments

The last month has consisted of surfing, climbing, hiking, mountain biking, wakeboarding, whitewater rafting and waterskiing.  A few random snow days have been strewn in the mix, but for the most part I haven't skied much since May. Because of the massive quantities of snow that Snowbird Resort in Utah has received this year, it has decided to remain open through the 4th of July (and perhaps beyond) [...]

Pictures from Climbing

May 13th 2011 - 2 comments

It has been years since I have put on a harness and attempted to push and pull myself up a rock wall.  Yesterday I got the chance to get back into it.  Hopefully it won't be years and year until I get to do it again.  It is a lot of fun.  Here are some pics of a 5.10a and a 5.11 that we got! I obviously only top roped them, but hopefully it is a sign of good things to come.  [...]

Brady Newton Has Outdone Himself

by 123ski
May 11th 2011 - 0 comments

Well, while the rest of us were studying for finals, Brady Newton continued shredding at Snowbird, and he has truly outdone himself with this edit.  Classy work Brady! This is easily one of the best Snowbird edits I have ever seen! [...]

As you can tell, the website is in the middle of being revamped.  It is not completely done yet, so if you have any suggestions on what you think can be improved, please leave a comment below this post, or shoot me an e-mail.  Here is a picture of yesterday to hold you over until a new video is released: [...]

Brady Newton February

by 123ski
Mar 22nd 2011 - 3 comments

Man, I didn't get to ski enough in February.  Brady did though.  Here is a new edit from him.  You might recall in my last blog post that we have been doing some night touring.  Here is some footage to prove it.  There is nothing more exhilarating than getting a face shot in the dark, not knowing if you might run into a tree, or a bush, or a coyote, or a person with their headlamp turned off. &nb [...]

Brady Newton

Feb 13th 2011 - 1 comments

Here is a new edit from Brady Newton.  For a guy that only gets to ski on Saturdays (and every other Friday) he is getting the job done!  Great job Brady!Brady and I recently started night touring.  Last week we hit up pink pine chute at 8:30 PM.  Luckily Brady's headlamp is so bright (900 Lumens), because the snow was deep, the chutes were steep, and the trees would have hurt had we not been able t [...]

December

by 123ski
Jan 11th 2011 - 3 comments

I was stoked to be able to ski as much as I did in December. This edit is mostly footage from this last month, with a few shots from late November and early January. I wasn't sure how much I would be able to ski this first year of law school, evidently I am able to ski more than I ever imagined I would be able to. I hope you enjoy this edit, because I had fun making it. [...]

Pictures

Dec 2nd 2010 - 3 comments

I was hoping that I would have a chance to edit some of my thanksgiving footage before my final exams snuck up on me.  I failed.  I will get some editing done over Christmas.  Brighton received something like 50" of snow the week of Thanksgiving.  It made for some excellent skiing.  Every lift on the mountain was open by Thanksgiving day.  That does not happen often.  What else does n [...]

Tons of Snow

by 123ski
Oct 30th 2010 - 18 comments

It snowed over 4 feet in some parts of the Wasatch Mountains this week.  I unfortunately was stuck in school working on a few projects that are due next week.  Oh well, soon enough we will have more snow.  My buddy Mitch Potter and some of his friends had the chance to get up at Alta and enjoy the fresh snow.  I can't believe how deep it was for October! [...]

More Pictures from Lake Powell

Fall break really was a great time.  Here are a few more pictures.  The first one is of Jeff trying his first whirlybird, he almost landed tantrum to blind but lost the rope after the landing.  The second one is just of me doing a regular old backroll. [...]

Fall Break

by 123ski
Oct 20th 2010 - 0 comments

Law school has kept me pretty busy the last month or so, I have still gotten some good footage, but most of my time has been spent in front of books.  This week was a great break, I got to spend 4 days at Lake Powell.  Here are some still shots from some of the footage I got.  I have some plans to use the footage around December, so if you want to see some summer stuff check back then.  [...]
