Revision Messed Up

So, back in September I was looking around for a new pair of skis for this season. After hours of searching, someone recommended revision skis. They look sick so I got them for a sick deal during the pre-sale. There was only one slight issue, the skis ship date was "mid November" although that was kinda annoying I knew I wouldn't be skiing at all between now and that time. Fast foward almost 3 months and I still havent heard from them, so I sent them an email regarding the shipping. They said that they would contact me in the next week for an Update. They sent another email a few days later saying they ran into some issues during production. "Due to some quality inconsistencies, we made the decision to rebuild a good portion of our skis". At that time I was like "ok, well I would rather wait 2-3 more weeks for solid skis then get low-quality skis now". They also said they would send another email in about a week for a new ETA. I got the email this morning and they said the new shipping date would be THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY. Thats almost have way into the ski season. I'm disappointed because the skis looked so fun but theres no way im waiting that long.


But thats not all, they also gave me (and all other customers) a $100 coupon to there website. Sure I appreciate them going out of there way to do that because they definitely feel bad abut this whole situation, but $100 is not gonna keep me waiting around for another month and a half. So, what do you guys think. Are any of you guys in the same Boat as Me?
Could this issue possibly be the end of revision?

the factory is in china so I imagine it takes some time to ship skis overseas

Plus they'll ship to revision first, then to the customer, not directly to the customer

The average lead time for exports out of China to the US is 24 days (19 for West Coast, 33 days for East Coast) If the skis haven't shipped yet, you're looking at late February/early March delivery at best.

Why? Really all of you should be having your banks reverse charges on these pieces of shit. Revision can fuck right off. They should be sitting in front of their computers sucking everyones dick and answering every e-mail from people who put their faith in them. After all, it's not like they are tied up actually manufacturing skis themselves to deliver to their customers.

Gonna be as unbiased and objective as possible and agree with this for the fact that you CAN do something if you want. Your bank should be able to take care of the charge if you take the time to give them the information as to why you want it reversed. Sucks to not have skis for half a season and to start fresh, but there's so many other ski companies with positive reputations that would gladly take the business...

I personally think you should do something. If I still lived in the Midwest that would be my entire season! Fuck that give me my money back and I can maybe get half a season in.

This is going to sound douchey but I thinks it's sorta relevant to credit my answer a little bit...I'm a very good skier and I've skied tons of skis in the past 16 years since I started park and freeride and yes they're definitely good skis. If my talismans were a little stiffer id consider them my ideal park/resort ski and I use them for everything

This situation sucks-- they don't seem to have handled it well at all-- and that's too bad but the skis are good yes

I dunno, I thought it was pretty helpful. The reality is if a factory is in China, the shipping is going to take a while. My dad ordered a magnetic globe for my brother, it ended up coming from China and it took a month to arrive. Once the skis are shipped to Revision themselves, the distribution will be varied depending on how close the customer lives to the shipping headquarters. Doesn't mean it sucks any less but it is something useful.


Just my two cents: I think the key to providing good customer service to those who choose to place orders with a company is to follow through. Providing transparent information to the customer instead of covering up is the logical way to properly deal with the situation IMO, but it doesn't mean that's how a company chooses to run. They seemed to have started out being transparent, saying they needed to hold off on shipping due to quality control, understandable, appreciated even. But it seems as customers became disappointed, they began covering their asses.
Saying "just a few more weeks" in order to prevent customers from rejecting funds through PayPal, credit card companies or their bank. I saw some people saying they still haven't received notice of their orders shipping and tomorrow is the 15th, easily half way through the season for some people's locations. I'd be beyond frustrated with the situation, especially since you probably paid good money for them.

If you have nothing else to ski on and are not attached to what you've ordered/not willing to wait, I agree with what others have suggested. Just pull the plug, dispute with your form of payment and find yourself a ski from another company that will arrive sooner than later!

Thank you!! I see everyone bitching about what's happening and if I were them ya they have every right to complain,but you don't need to destroy and undermine this skis this company makes if there are decent skis

Looking like the end of Revision here. Even if they don't do too poorly in numbers this season, I can't see how their reputation is going to recover from this. Crazy to think that one mistake as a new company could be your final one

It's not crazy though, this is just straight up lazy. To think that you can invest so much time and energy in to a business, then tank just because you refused to email kids back. I'd have had a spreadsheet with every pre-orders' email and sent a weekly mass email update. It takes ten fucking minutes. This whole situation is just straight lazy.

The worst part is im a huge fan of every single athlete they support. They will be the ones who suffer the worst from all of this.

They shouldn't make it. That's how it works. If you can't take 10 minutes out of your day to email people updates you absolutely don't deserve to be a company. They can't take 10 minutes out of a fucking month. They get what they try for. Pure lazyness.

Sucks for the riders though. Hopefully they find new teams.

I absolutely feel for the kids who got shafted by this whole deal. Theres nothing worse than being a broke college student and having money tied up in skis that you'll never get. Revision is totally fucked after this whole ordeal, while it may not have been directly their fault they certainly didn't help the situation with piss poor customer service. To all the folks who need new skis ON3P is the move.

Yeah Logan is the goat, to anyone saying leave them alone with the emails, listen to Logan, its not hard to do your job in customer service, they are being lazy because they know they messed up

Ill get my Revisions when they come, and i will never, ever, ever, order a single thing from Revision again

Im gunna be patient with this one
They said the skis are on route to the warehouse, and they said this around a month ago, so its only a matter lf time before its in their hands

Next time i need some new skis im definitely putting my money into somethin like Armada, J, or ON3P

It literally is a brand built off of a trend in skiing, not really the product. How sustainable would riding that trend wave even be anyways, especially when the riders leading the trend are signed elsewhere (cough on3p).

If you haven't received your skis, file a chargeback with your credit card company. The card company will start an investigation. At that point it's up to Revision to dispute the chargeback. The only way they can successfully dispute the chargeback would be to provide satisfactory documentation and proof that they fulfilled your order and shipped your skis. Since they obviously haven't done that, they'll lose the chargeback dispute and you'll get your money back.

Relax, silky Johnson. What are you even accusing the customers of? They're pretty sick, decently priced skis. I'm still happy I bought mine 2 years ago. Buying them doesn't make someone a bandwagon jumper haha you fuckin grinch

Disclaimer this is just my honest opinion, I think they are a great company providing a good ski with a low price point and a good warranty making it more affordable for broke teens to get new stuff, at the same time I understand from their point all their skis weren't made right and they have to do another's production mid winter and wait for crazy shipping times , however they should've handled the situation way better and provided more support for the customers that did order instead of ignoring everyone which they obviously are because you can't tell me no one in their whole company is working rn just because they aren't actively shipping their products

Great companies don't do this. And if you are not manufacturing, you should at least be doing due dilligence to make sure your manufacturer is building you the product you expect.

Yeah, this would be inexcusable if it was one of the indies who actually build all their own skis, even though the production variables there are incredible. The fact that they're having this issue, and communicating this badly while selling a generic third party ski strikes me as the opposite of great.

This is very true but in the tiniest little bit of defense for them, this is all because the original products didn't meet their standards and they didn't want to sell them, so let's say normally their factory has all summer to make the skis they need for the year now they make them all wrong and have to remake them all and are expected to remake in a fraction of the time but that is no excuse for the lack of customer service

OMFG same shit happening to me bro, I ordered my skis very late OCT and still don't even have a tracking number. I asked for my money back last week and still haven't gotten a reply 10 days later. I'm so pissed, they won't even get in contact with me or keep me updated. I regret paying for these skis over 3 months ago.
