Camp Of Champions Disrespect.

so, i dont know if anybody caught it, unfortunatly i just got to a computer and they deleted it. but, the Camp of Champions facebook page posted a picture of a kids (fake) pass (uncensored with picture and full name).... the caption basically said "poachers get passes pulled and will get hot listed. #thanksforcomingout "

it blew up on facebook getting about 70 people commenting about how COC handled this. personally i thought it was brutal. i dont know what they were thinking, but it made them look incredibly un-professional.

earlier today, they also posted a picture of momentum's lift line with the caption "Momentum's lift line is pretty crazy today. #wheresyourhotlapnow" this image didn't blow up. however, I found that was quite childish and apperantly alot of people did too. there were about 60 people saying about how they arent going to go to COC and they would rather go to windells. but that really isnt a big deal.

i don't see the issue, the kid faked a pass and poached, why not make fun of him on the internet? I doubt they were trying to be douches to momentum like that on purpose, its a hashtag, people make funny hashtags all the time. #whogivesafuck

I guess both pictures were a bit out of line. But the comments on that picture were too funny.

It's not the point of the kid being in the wrong. Yes he poached, but he lost his pass and got banned, which in my eyes is a fair punishment. It's more the point that a profesional company is calling out a kid on a social media site. It doesn't need to be done...

that momentum line is tiny compared to the public line that coc uses though haha.

why do you give a fuck at all? honestly, why? the kid had a good try but he got caught. they made fun of him. big fucking deal. stop being so sensitive over something that has no effect on you whatsoever. COC can do whatever the hell they want and if you actually change your plans to go there because of a picture on facebook its your loss. (and you're a whiny bitch).

Kid deserves it anyways. COC puts in all the hard work and money into their park, do you think they would want kids scamming them and using them? And the momentum comment wasn't even serious I bet, ken and the owner of momentum are probably friends.

It's just unprofessional to make that big of a deal about it. For example when someone shoplifts from a wallmart, they dont post pictures around the store after they are caught.

the reason they don't do that is because its walmart, we are skiers, if someone steals from us, even in the slightest it hurts us as a community. the kid was basically stealing from all of us and makes us all look like douchebags, this isn't the 90's, stop stealing.

Sounds fair to me and I'm not a kid paying a shit load of money to come to camp.

And not sure if it matters but Ken the guy who runs the camp is a really cool guy and wants to look out for the best interest of his camp and the kids in the lane.

yep if yo mommy cant pay for you too go to camp its your loss, wish my mommy paid for me to go to camp, ha id be up there poaching to not guna lie. but if i got caught , i would know i was in the wrong and take the punishment , even if it came to me being made fun off, wich i could give a fuck, kid proly had fun while it lasted haha

... what a fucking stupid thing to say. it costs money, they have park passes available to buy, they aren't gonna let every fucking kid ride there, are you kidding me? who cares who pays for it, it still costs fucking money. and COC is really hard to poach, so you'd prob get your pass pulled pretty quick then too.

haha you are an idiot. This thread isn't about whether its a good idea to poach COC or not. Its also not a debate over whether or not the kid should have been kicked out.

I don't think COC should prove their point by humiliating some poor kid on Instagram, which is what this thread is about. That seems wrong and unfair to me. One would probably call it cyberbulling. The other interesting thing is that out of all of the (probably hundreds) of kids who get caught poaching every summer, they choose to humiliate one. That, by definition, is unfair and cruel.

yes, i agree with all of you, alll im pointing out is thaat it was un-reasonalbe to put it on a socail media network. he got his punishment, getting his pass pulled and getting hot listed. otherwise all the kids saying about how they don't want to go to COC anymore is just stupid.

I'm glad to see most of NS isn't agreeing with OP. When you look at it, COC's park is there business, it's what they make their money off of. Even if the kid isn't getting coached and taking part in the other activities it's technically still stealing. A Porsche dealership isn't going to let you test drive one of their vehicles everyday even though you're not technically "stealing" the vehicle.

The momentum photo I'm sure was in good fun. It's not like Ken and John are enemies up on the glacier trying to hate on each other.

I don't get why so many people are mad at the poacher..... Poaching is some bad assed shit. I for one wouldn't mind some videos of someone throwing down, poaching a full line at CoC. Sure poaching is wrong, but I sure as hell love it when someone steps up and says, "Fuck It, right here, right now, WE STICK IT TO THE MAN!"

Not mad at the poacher, mad at people that are down playing COC. Everyone has poached something at one point or another, but if you get caught your obviously gonna get in shit. That's what makes poaching so exhilarating. It's all in good fun, until you get caught.

When we nicely ask someone repeatedly to not poach our park and they keep coming back no matter how nice we are at explaining that it's a private area and that they aren't allowed in the private area, and nicely ask him to leave again and again, and they just don't get it, we finally had to stop being nice for the message to get across to him as being nice obviously wasn't working. Its the first time in 24 years we've ever had to go this far to get someone to stop poaching our park.

If you've ever poached our park and been busted, you'll know this isn't how we usually deal with it. We usually give you a mellow "Hey Man" and then you are nicely asked to leave. He'd had numerous infractions with WB before this final straw and they were as tired of him as we were.

Yes I admit it was probably not my smartest move to post up the pass and I apologize for doing it, but man, everyday for almost two weeks having to tell someone the same thing over and over.... It got a little old.
