Pulled this off a story of a kid I follow who skis in aspen. Specifically think what Colterjh is saying to him is kinda wack. Mans telling a kid no older than 18 he’s an idiot and dick and shouldn’t be respected for hitting a jump at a classic jump spot in aspen. Maybe it’s time volkl reviews it’s contract with another one of their douche skiers
so a pro built the jump and a kid you know hit it and the dude who built it is pissed at the kid you know?
edit: i’m not commenting either way i just wanna know what is going on lol

Yeah the pro who built it built it weeks ago according to this. At a classic aspen jump spot and this kid hit it after a big dump of snow on a cloudy day with his friends. And the pro was mad because he was saving it for a sunny deep day

I think what I’m getting at more is the way he behaved himself when it wasn’t in the public eye and it was to a significantly younger person. Volkl just seems to pick up a bunch of douches. You got Andri doing parcour on a Holocaust memorial, the fagans being idiots, and this dude thinking he owns public lands and can be a dick to kids even if they did hit his jump and say Maybe if it was a day after it’s kinda an ethical code not to hit it but still no need to be a dick about it
**This post was edited on Mar 16th 2021 at 10:57:53pm
yea i see both sides of this. my “backyard” setup was on public land this year and i knew going in i couldn’t stop people from using it but that didn’t make it hurt any less when i come out to the spot and it’s destroyed from some kids hitting it without fixing lips and shit and i have to do 2 hours or snow work by myself before i can use my shit again
at the same time... i knew that was a likelihood when i built shit in a place where people were bound to come across it
haha idk if i would hit it or not. that’s a fucking booter, id prolly still hit it even tho i knew it was kinda bogus since i didn’t put in any work moving snow
Wahhhhh we were waiting for the sun to come out wahhhhh
Skiers can be the biggest crybabies on the planet. You gotta be a special kinda chodeblaster to build something on public land then get pissed other people use it
You need to learn how to make a coherent first post, holy shit.

id also love it if all the gapers stopped side jumping lips immediately after they get raked but I don’t own the lips so I can’t tell them what to do. Shut up colt
would be so sick to bust out huge iron crosses on that baby

I have no problem about sharing dms of a pro crying over jumps, but the "remember when we got folks to drop the fagans?" attitude is pathetic. Wanting to rally together to cancel a bunch of sorta crappy things is lame. I hate cancel culture. Yeah the Fagans definitely deserved it for consistently being twats, but this guy is a different kind of dick.

Trying is to get NS to somehow get this dude dropped is next level petty.
Being under 18 doesn’t make you immune to getting called out.
Colter Hinchcliffe is OVERRATED. Next time I'm in Aspen I'll gladly hit his shitty booters on a cloudy day if it's gonna piss him off that badly. What a fucking entitled moron with a silver spoon jammed up his ass.
Droo ski pattol the coords and theyll go blow it up
"they watched us building it a few weeks ago." So he built a jump (in a classic jump spot apparently) and then expected no one it hit it for weeks after? Maybe the kids could have been more respectful, but idk cuz i wasnt there. This guy seems entitled. I wouldn't say he deserves to be dropped by volkl but he could use some sort of wakeup call imo
Cancel culture is bullshit, and this thread is pathetic.
The irony of you trying to be like,
"Hey guys, look how entitled this douche is!"
As your nobody ass eagerly tries to destroy his life over something insignificant.
Here's a video of him hitting the kicker 2 weeks ago. It's funny the top comment even says "that kicker has been abused this season."
I hate gate keeping in the ski scene, no one owns or deserves lines more than others
The reality is that Völkl just sponsors a looottt of people. Like it’s insane how many people ride their skis

I did say drop I said they should take a look at it he has a decently big platform and I just don’t personally think someone with that much of a following should behave like that

Whining over someone hitting a jump in a common spot is pathetic... whining about someone hitting a jump in a common spot that’s been up all season is downright laughable. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Aspen. Welcome to the epicenter of entitlement.
oh boo hoo the jump you left up for weeks in a popular spot got hit by some kids. snooze ya lose
as others have already said, this is classic aspen. maybe he should do some coke about it
ParkRxHere's a video of him hitting the kicker 2 weeks ago. It's funny the top comment even says "that kicker has been abused this season."
Wow he really never has tried a 1080 before? He really is one of the most overrated skiers and not just because of that. I remember he signed a poster for me I think at a tgr movie a few years ago and I don't think he even said a single word besides hey.
Call ski patrol and tell them to blow up his jump

It’s just off the backside of ajax they prolly would tbh

Looks like he got his sunny pow hits on it. Sometimes if jump is in an obvious spot you kinda of have to get your shots on it when its good. You're not going to be the only one hitting it forever.
Otherwise i dont really care either way.

Why not it’s kinda shitty anyways plus I can’t spell
this exact shit happened to me and a few friends a couple weeks ago. we went to one of the only good jump spots in our area where we knew some friends had already built and hit a jump in febuary. when we got there we saw there lip had been reworked to have a different run in and was covered in like 2 weeks of snow fall. we were rebuilding a bit of the lip and packing the run in and 3 older snowboarders showed up guns ablazing saying, "sorry boys this ones ours, we built it a little while ago and were waiting for a sunny day" (this happened on the sunday of a very sunny weekend). they proceeded to lecture us for like 15 minutes about poaching other peoples jumps and how there was apparently x's on the lip. we argued with them for a while then ended up just saying whatever and going across the ravine to build a little step down and watched these dudes struggle to land a 360 which was very satisfying to watch
Haha holy cow I haven’t been on newschoolers for a looong long long time! I am the over rated Colter and I just wanted to give you all a little bit more information on what bummed me out about this situation. I cannot deny that the spot is a classic spot for a jump and it’s not far from the top of the gondola. Of course I don’t own the spot and I am happy for others to enjoy it as well. I am one of the most friendly people you will find in the backcountry and before this incident I am sure blountman (the jump poacher) would have said the same thing about me as I have been very friendly and given him advice as recently as last week when he didn’t know where his exit to a backcountry run was.
This friendliness is exactly what actually gives the act of hitting our jump so much disrespect. I call it “our jump” as we spent multiple days and hours building it, we don’t own the spot, but we own the sweat it took to build the jump. Anyways, “Blountman”knows me, he watched and chatted with the 5 of us as we built it better than it has ever, ever been built before. He did not offer to lift a finger to help though. Furthermore, I have been locally vocal and even posted on my story (which we watches) that I was hoping to get enough snow to hit it again and try to land that 1080. It would have been very easy for him to reach out to me (we communicate via DM fairly regularly) before he went and bombed it out on a sub ideal day. It was a surprise to me that anyone would get to it that day and hit it in flat light. If he had reached out I likely would have invited him to session it with us....
I am the most stoked to see the next generation get their chance and watch them progress. I hope to help the next gen as much as I can. This does not include spending hours building jumps and getting snaked by the same kids I am trying to help. It seems like simple courtesy to me. I have learned my lessons through the years and pissed off some snowboarder legend in Austria. I felt bad tho. I learned my lesson and I show respect to fellow riders and I hope this message resonates with some of you. That’s all this old and over rated skier who can’t do a 1080 has to say 😂. For now anyways. Shred on 🤙🏼
So why didn’t you get your tricks when you built it out and it was good? If homie went and hit the jump weeks later it must have been good conditions then. Sounds to me like you were sleeping and you’re butthurt you didn’t get it when it’s good.
You don’t own the sidecountry lol, grow the fuck up. Didnt really expect much better from someone who skis volkl tho

Only way to settle this is a Spot Showdown between you and the kid, either a game of SLVSH or Best Trick contest. Winner gets to stay in Aspen and loser gets to move out of town to some other shitty ski town.

I’m still caught up on the fact that you think you being vocal on instagram for weeks about wanting to go back to a sidecountry jump merits everyone sucking your dick and waiting around for you to hit it. Sounds like your ego and self worth are dramatically inflated by your influencer lifestyle and you need to realize that your followers don’t mean shit. You want a good line or to hit an untracked jump in the BC? Start early and maybe don’t build it next to lifts lol

so you put days of work into a very popular jump spot, hit it in front of some kid, and are now fuming because he sessioned it weeks later? i get that he hit your jump but not in a million years would i consider that poaching
also did you chat with him about this after it happened or just immediately blow him up on your story?
is it not common courtesy to respect when someone else builds a jump? Like I certainly wouldn't see a pre-built booter and think oh sweet free game. Lots of time and effort goes into building those things.
i feel like if you've already had a session on a jump, especially if it is in a played out location, it is not really fair to consider it yours anymore. sounds like you just weren't down enough to go hit the jump on a "sub optimal" day and someone else was lol.

Glad to here your side of the story I see why you were a bit upset but I don’t rly see that as enough of a reason to go calling some kids names on the interwebs. I personally think someone with a following like you would be a bit more kind and forgiving. Also conduct yourself in a bit more of a professional or mature manner. And they take a look at the contract thing was more click batey now that I actually realize it.

yea its nots your jump for the rest of the season, what a shit spot to try and gate keep. pretty embarrassing line of reasoning on your part
Luke is the dude in the red and purple pants pictured on the IG story that this colter guy is freaking out about. Seriously one of the nicest, humblest skiers I know and couldn't hurt a fly -- and also such a rippin stylish skier. Pretty fucking sad for influencer Colter to get so worked up about this especially since he probably has the resources as an "influencer" to go out into the backcountry and build a jump where you can get privacy to land your ugly ass 1080. PS - dude looks washed and like he can't even make a turn, surprised you're still on volkl lmao.
Sounds like aspen local kids saw someone doing hard work and said "fuck that" and hit it when the work was done.
Then cried about when the jump makers called them out.

Maybe he’s just jealous luke can stomp a dub 10?
Someone explain to me why this isnt considered poaching, please. Is it because he already sessioned it once? Is it because it's easily accessed?
What is considered poaching, if this isnt. From PA and we dont get enough snow to deal with problems like this.
Imagine building a perfect jump and not wanting to hit it asap, much less waiting weeks
