Jerrys are ignorant to any trouble they cause, they're out having a good time and get unknowingly picked on. Its hard to truely hate on them or call them annoying. Most racers are pretty chill to, its the few that are that give them an unfair representation. The most annoying are the 15-16 park rats that think they're hot shit but don't know how to behave without their parents around yet. Chill out Tyler, we know you think you're the best on the hill.
Bunny hill heroes are the fucking worst. They are always dressed as gapers and act like they are hot shit because they can ski in a barely controlled manner slightly faster than the rest of the beginners on the hill. Half the time they are drunk and are so close to wiping out kids and others just trying to learn. So many times I wanted to sucker one of them to the back bowls to smarten them up a bit.
Arrogant park skiers who won't help new guys and making fun of them.
It's mostly the younger generation.
But it seems that it is the same like in any other sport...

I hate this, people seem to forget so easily that they used to suck at what theyre good at and there are people out there better than them
teen park skiers who just learned 5s that catcall new parkskiers from the lift
I think racers get way too much hate. I grew around them a ton and yeah you’ll run into a few shitty ones, but I’ve had way more negative experiences with park rats compared to racers. Honestly my least favorite skiers are the egotistical park rats who think that they’re unique because they hate new wave. I get it if new wave isn’t your thing or you just like 2010 era skiing (I do too), but some dudes just have a straight up complex about it. Like chill dude your k-fed isn’t that fucking cool.
these "hardcore oldschool snowboarders", they call you out, sneak in while you are going for an obstacle and they not just yell at you, but really go in for a fight...hate those guys
-Tourists/jerrys who sit in the lodge all day, eating chips, so when the boys go in theres no seats
-10 year olds who pretend their sponsored and “can triple back”
-racers in the park
The complainer dads.
Here on the east coast if it isn't prefect packed pow groomers with 0 bumps, they will complain.
Out west if they aren't getting fresh tracks in blower pow every run, they will complain.
on the best day of the season at the loaf this year, I heard more complaining in the lift line than any other day of the year. And it's literally only men who do this, I have never once heard a woman loudly complain about conditions. It's cause they're all rich guys who are used to buying perfect experiences and when they can't pay Mother Nature to cooperate with them they get frustrated. It's sad and childish.
The boomer at the bottom of the mountain that’s like,
“that was pretty close there”!
WTF you talking bout bruh ...
”you were within 12” of me”
Good thing it wasn’t your wife boomer 😉
So the people who think your out of control when your not for going fast, for me , they are the worst, then shit starters, people that fight etc... almost never any reason for this
gday m8s stay healthy
The skiers who think they are better than everyone. Half the time those people aren't that good. I race and do park and there are plenty of those people in both. Guys will land a 5 or something and yell all the way down the trail about how good it was. I'd don't really hate any kind of skiers except for the snobby rich people and the people who aren't aware of their surroundings and snake everyone. Racers only get hate from park skiers because there are some that just ruin it for all racers. Me and most of my ski friends are racers and we always hit the park before practice. I hit a 3 on GS skis and everyone is so surprised.

100%
It doesn't matter to me how you like to get down the mountain or what kind of skiing you like, but if you spend the entire chairlift ride complaining about the conditions while you are out skiing, you'll immediately lose my respect. And I agree the immaturity seems to mostly come from 40+ y/o guys.
I obviously still prefer good conditions to shitty conditions, but you can always just laugh your way through horrible crud, ice, and crusts. Also, "when the powder is all chopped up" as those guys call it — that's one of my favorite things to ski.
People who don’t know shit about avi conditions and off-piste skiing but still try to do it and don’t look out for other people.I think that’s especially dangerous in Europe where the off-piste conditions aren’t monitored by Ski-patrol.I always try to help people and tell them where it’s not dangerous and where some secret drops are (if they are interested and have their avi stuff).a few weeks ago me and my crew were on top of this steep line and I dropped in, ten seconds after me a English-family dropped in they made Pizza-turns down the line and 2 of them crashed after 3meters sending some serious sluff to me which almost made me crash

Yeah, some of them are fine, but I live in a pretty wealthy ski town and a lot of them are just spoiled and own 7 pairs of skis.
The racer kids who come into the park to ride over the lips and don't know how to properly ride the rope tow

I recently made some new friends who are like this, but what really got me was when they were complaining (before the season got cut off obviously) about how it was too warm. They are fairly casual skiers so they were wearing full on pow gear while I was in sunglasses and a hoody... of course you are going to be roasting wearing the wrong gear for the wrong conditions. I love soft snow and not being under a million layers.
Skier/boarders that dont prepare their cars for winter driving and stop all of us from getting to the hill
I was teaching how to ski to my friend this season and he was always being called names from the chairlift from teens of our age .. Yeah he sucks but like u actually sucked at skiing once in your life so this kind of person is the worst type

I think it depends on what race club they are from, I ski my local hill on weeknights and different race clubs train different times so I see a-lot of different racers. Some like Sunshine and Panorama racers are jerks mostly but Fernie Racers are super chill. I think it comes from their home hill culture or lack of.
Park skiiers that think there all that and a bag of chips but they suck and block the drop in line at the top saying there gonna do a backey and stand there for 20 mins not letting anyone drop then straight air it and take up your time when u could be lappin wif da boiz
People who snake drops at the top of the park. Come the fuck on. I don't ride park like I used to. But that shit pissed me the fuck off so much. Wait your turn call drop

ok so I'm all for calling your drop but I like hot lapping and a lot of the time when I get to the top of the park it's a bunch of these dudes:

like, what am I supposed to do? wait 5 minutes for some 14 year old to psych himself up to try a cork while there is nobody even hitting the jump? hell naw dude, I ski fucking fast and need to rip a straight air mute grab ASAP. Kids gotta stop clogging up the drop-in, you can hit your juul on the chairlift just fine
I think racers are particularly annoying not all but the kids that think bashing gates is the coolest thing and the only thing they do. Jerry's are definitely ignorant so you cant really get to mad at them.

I always love tossing flat 3s and backies in front of the 13 year olds that think their the shit on gs skis. Gotta keep em humble, however there was one time I forgot about the race skis and accidently went flat 5 and caught the tails kinda hard.
MomAgainst4tniteUsasa/ifsa kids
Ay bro don't shit on ifsa, like theres a few of us that act like hot shit but most of us are chill. We aint arrogant like the usasa kids, ifsa is more like a community than anything if u ask me

_mcjakkHeaven forbid u come prepared when u ski tour
it has zero to do with preparation and 100% to do with attitude
you think i'm saying you're only core if you go to the backcountry unprepared? that's just stupid...
backcountry bert is literally just a name for a stereotype. it has nothing to do with the majority of backcountry users. it's describing the type of people who buy all of the brand new flashy gear, talk condescending to the dirtbags, act like they're the world's best avy educated resource after one weekend of aiare 1 class, ski 4 days a year, and make virtue signalling posts on instagram about how adventurous they are.

Well those aint real skiers so... like im a backcountry skier and i really just bring the essentials. Even with backcountry access i still spend most of my time on resorts and in the park, like real skiers dont brag abt going ski touring to everyone they meet someone on the chairlift.

yeah, that's what i'm saying, you just took it personally because i said backcountry. you don't need to defend yourself, do whatever tf makes you happy
This whole thread is just skiers hating on skiers lol.
Personally types of skiers I hate are:
- elitists who barely ski
- Skiers who don't ski for themselves
- "who cares bro they're just having fun"
- "idk why people hate on new wave- we're just skiing the way we want why would ya'll care? ... Fuck comp skiers tho"
- all of r/skiing (and most of ya'll tbh)
- retards who focus on this shit instead of actually just skiing
- Pete Koukov, like why tf are you in super unknown? You've had several pro movie parts and already ride for Line and Jiberish- gtfo and save the space for an actual unknown that deserves it.
Never had good experiences with racers. I’m sure some racers are nice, but the only racer’s i have met Have been cocky

Those spoiled park kids who will get a couple edge cracks (if they even ride that hard) and then get a brand new pair of skis from mommy and daddy right away.
The egocentric dickheads who want to bring the shitty surfing "localism" vibe to skiing and try to keep places or access roads closed to the public
Ski academy kids who can barely do tricks on rails but learned to double cork when they were 11.
pinkcamo1000just gotta put em in their place by passing them on the skintrack with your setup that was half the price of theirs
two seasons ago a nordic guy told his friends I got lost at saddleback this year cus my truck was in the lot when he left
Also, bc guys with strava that track/announce vert at the end of the day or insta post about their good decisionmaking

yup, my girlfriend races and my roommate went to a ski academy. Another of my roommates skied a highschool team in full tilts and crushed. I go out and ski with all of them regularly because they're cool people and I have fun skiing with them
I don't know if it was mentioned, but ski instructors are about as worst as it gets sometimes. I spent a month in japan staying in a house with like 8 of them, with most of their friends being instructors. I have never heard such a group of people talk about the "cert levels" as much as them. Holy fuck did it get annoying, they carry themselves so high for people who cannot ski anything other than groomers, looking like a fucking robot. Now I'm not saying all are like that, but I really got a negative vibe from most of them, given the reason for this rant. They would constantly talk about the technical aspect of skiing and never shut up about how "sick" their black crow setup was. Some of them started a Carving challenge on instagram, now how sus is that? I would take them into the off-piste terrain and they'd ski like total a boner off drops, natural hits, ect. I don't understand why they see themselves at such a high level just because they can follow a standard. Niseko, japan, this goes out to you!
Has anyone else noticed this before?

There are two types of ski instructors. The PSIA hard on's like you described, and those of us who maintain the minimum cert required to make some cash, ski for free, and get gear discounts.
