Spag and I are partners, you'll be working for us now ;)

The mcdonalds is off putting but I get what you mean. Work myself into a higher position?
I worked construction for four years. It's a good gig for high school. Make good money, learn important skills and get in shape. A lot of "pro" skiers work construction or roof or something similar in the summers as well.

My friend made $20k this summer doing construction/paving which reeled me in but mentioned he burned himself with a ton of chemical shit. Maybe stand with the traffic signs? I usually sit around all summer or hang with like 2 kids so Id prefer making a good amount of money
I worked as a fish monger at a really successful fish market. Made $15 an hour off the books 12 hours a day 5-7 days a week. Made a ton of money and it still is a huge conversation piece of my resume since I carried that job into college

What exactly did you do?
wait, youre 18 and still have a year of highschool left?
.Hugo.wait, youre 18 and still have a year of highschool left?
I did 2 years of pre k along with a friend of mine and were the only 18 year olds in the grade besides one kid, but he was in jail for a bit, hes fucked up.
I got a job at sportchek and i gotta say its pretty good. Although the pay is shit ($11.50/hr), you get a wicked discount (for ski gear) and full time hours during the summer. I mostly use the discount for goggles and outerwear since the ski selection is limited to some k2, rossi and volkl models, but I still save tons on stuff like shoes and such.

Yeah. I mean it's "dangerous" lots of missing fingers and toes, haha but really not bad. To hold signs you gotta get trained and be union but if you do get in you make bank. The few Union jobs I was on were $32 an hour plus time and a half ot

How do I get in the 'union' part?
i'd say restaurant, but you don't wanna work nights. I got into a forbes five star as a food runner, and i'm at minimum wage but make twice that in tips
Really depends on what you want to do. How much you like the job, how much $ you need and if you're trying to learn any skills.
Even some of the shitty summer jobs you can work your way up a bit and have that option every summer.
Also slangin rocks is always an option
1. Construction site, general labouring pays above minimum wage. The standard hours aren't too bad, but you can also earn extra money by working overtime on weekends.
2. Warehouse work, admittedly quite dull and the hours are long, but there's lots of opportunity for overtime, and especially if you're working night you don't actually have to do that much work. I worked at a popular online retailer's warehouse (not sure if I can specify who) over the Christmas holiday and with overtime, I was able to make ~£500 a week.
I worked for my borough crew last summer. Doing it again this summer.

Ok, I found a warehouse job for magazines nearby on craigslist that pays $11 and hour and theyre long shifts. Just kinda sketched out because its craigslist..Construction might be my best option or just outdoor labor.

I found my warehouse job on the UK equivilant of Craigslist. Yeh, shifts are long typically, from memory I worked 11 hour shifts.
i cut grass and do landscape work at a cemetery. fun job get paid decent not bad for a high school job work 40-64 hour weeks
Titus69Just kinda sketched out because its craigslist.
Ummmmmm, why? It's 2015. IT's not like craiglist is some sketchy new site.
Plenty of good jobs, cars, apartments, whatever on there
Try to work in a field that you're interested in since then your job will be much more tolerable. I ended up working 3 summers in a bike shop in high school and it was so much fun since I was with like minded people working on stuff I enjoyed
If you live near a golf course caddying is pretty dope. At the country club near me kids easily put up to $100-$200 a day depending whether you dub bag it or not. Pretty much show up at 7:15, blaze, play cards with the other caddys, go on a loop, leave by 1pm.
Bunch of people I know always went tree planting for two months and came home with serious $$. Might be worth considering if your not a pussy or built like e heath.

straight up full sarcasm, apply for every landscaping/laboring/warehouse positions as you can. Get some steel toed boots, and a first aid level 1-2 certification and you'll be making 15-20 an hour, maybe even full time.
Good luck man.

Ok, I work for a guy who sends high schoolers to clean yards and do general labor and get $11 an hour but need something everyday in the summer.
I've worked construction for a pool company since I was 16, this will be my 4th summer with them. I don't make shit (10.50 at the end of this past summer) but I work a fuck ton of hours and get tan as fuck. You'll be exhausted at the end of each day but you'll be making bank. I made about $5,000 each summer making $9.50 an hour.
If you do end up getting a job working construction, BRING YOUR OWN FUCKING LUNCH.
I cannot stress that so much, you will save so much more money than if you go out to eat, which is usually all you have time for. I snack constantly throughout the day, so make sure you bring a lot of food. You won't have time to sit down and eat your food usually.

Id love to make $5000 in a summer.
Tree planting. The work is hard, but you can get really fast at it and get in shape. The pay is based off how many trees you plant, so you could slack and make a bit, or work really hard and make a fair chunk of change.
Construction. You will learn valuable skills and probably get paid more than anywhere else entry level. It is "dangerous", but you will only get hurt if you are being an idiot. Don't be scared away because your friend fucked around with chemicals. No employer is going to make you work dangerously.
Working for your city/municipality. Look on your city or municipalities website. They usually have summer jobs posted involving landscaping, park ranger-ing, and maintenance. These jobs are usually union as well and you can make a fuckload of money. I saw a park ranger job that required no experience and payed $20. Worth looking into for sure.

What is this tree planting deal? Is it like I go out and plant 5 trees a day and get $40? Seems kinda relaxing.
I did 6 months (march - august) at a local pizza place delivering pizza. They closed at 9pm, so I always could do stuff in the evening and didn't open until 11. Downside is I usually had to work 6 days a week to get enough hours, but I'd pick up doubles and shit but I made like $9/hr + tips (probably is more like 10 now, this was in 2007) and I usually matched my paychecks in tips, it was legit. Most weeks I'd only work 30 hours but still be making like $15/hr w/tips and it was a super easy job.
I've worked in construction before. It's hard work but it pas well and has skills which can transfer to other jobs and the real world. I got a job this summer with Parks Canada on their trail crew. it pays 22$ an hour and it's seasonal which means I have a job all through university. On top of that, They're interested in hiring me for a higher job when I come out with my engineering degree.
lifeguarding... get the cert and its minimal work for decent pay with flexible hours
i nanny some kids 5 days a week 9-5. and get 500 a week under the table.

Once I get out of high school I plan to just work a fuck ton until ski season and then work a ton again and probably go to an inexpensive college. Just wanna get started early so I can get a fun car to work on and enjoy and go to events like nationals since my parents refuse to pay.
If you have a waterpark of lake near you there are lifeguard opportunities, all you gotta do is sit on your ass in the warm sun

I have a couple pools nearby but all the management is awful and they already have a ton of lifeguards.
My big question is, for contruction whether I work my ass off paving and shit or controlling traffic, how the hell do I apply for this? Trying to get this figured out before June at least.

I got my job because my step mom knew the family who owns the pool company, ask your parent's to help you out. Use the connections they have made in life to your advantage.
if you have a country club nearby you, you could try caddying over the summer... I have been a caddy at a country club every summer since 6 grade and it is a pretty decent job... I get paid 50 dollars per 18 holes which usually takes around 4 hours give or take 30 minutes, for carrying 2 bags [one on each shoulder], then you can get some food/ drink usually on hole 9 and after the whole round on the golfer. plus at most country clubs the golfers will tip you, so you will be getting more than whatever you rate is most of the time... and every golfer that is there is rich as fuck... if you catch my drift [big tips] the most that I personally have been tipped by one golfer is $150... you will also probably get to golf one day a week if youre into that. I personally am able to make around $5000 dollars per summer just from caddying alone... I also bus tables and bar back at a restaraunt... so i get minimum wage there but hella good tips every night that i work... the only real downside to caddying is that you have to get up pretty early and you are pretty spent after walking around a golf course in the heat for 4-5 hours
TL;DR: caddying is a good job.

and btw I make my own hours so if i dont want to caddy that day i dont caddy if i do want to i do... simple as that
work at a golf club for sure, u can buff around with what wage ur getting paid, but on a good day i made around 200 bucks if we were on fire with people coming and what not. my boss sucked so i ended up quitting but needless to say i made bank, and u will too if u get the right golf course

Awesome summer job I did it on weekends growing up and made a ton of money..country club I was at averaged around $60-100 a bag depending on golfer (all tip no club pay) so doing 36 holes a day made some serious dough and got a great workout.
Don't worry about finding a job on craigslist.
My roomate 4 years ago got a baggage job for Delta Airlines off craiglist and has been working there ever since, he loves it.
