Anyone read the book on Chris Kyles life? It is a movie now with Bradley Cooper. Should be interesting.
This has been in the works for quite some time now; thankfully it's not a Spielberg movie like it could have been.
Read the book, and I know Bradley Cooper means all and wants to be as accurate to Chris Kyle's family as possible, but I still have a hard time seeing him play this character successfully. Hopefully he'll surprise me when I see it, because I will definitely be seeing it.
It will be interesting to see how Clint Eastwood tells the story.
I will definitely be seeing.
Not a big Bradley Cooper fan at all...But I have faith in him for this one and Clint is directing so it'll be awesome.
Definitely has potential to be great. Hopefully they just don't get too carried away with typical Hollywood theatrics.
Hopefully they don't blow it out of proportion and keep it to how he wrote it. Should be good.
deng. this looks gnarly. i'm excited to see Fury too.
The book was really good, and based on what I just saw the movie looks no less.
proZachuhhh....SHOOTER
This guy is a real life version of Mark Wahlbergs character. Most kills on record I believe with 160 confirmed out of 255 possible. Nickname was the Devil of Remadi. BAD ASS.
I hope they don't fuck this movie up. Book was great.
So who has seen this movie? I saw it Friday night and it was absolutely phenomenal. I don't think I've ever seen an entire movie theater stay through the end credits and then you could have heard a pin drop as everyone was walking out. During the credits I felt like I was at a funeral for a close friend. I really hope Bradley Cooper wins something for his performance because he did an amazing job and it was such a great movie.
yeh i saw it saturday, i'm not gonna lie i was really impressed, its pretty emotionally stressful. That said I haven't read his book so don't know how accurate it was. Even still well worth a watch, it was my favourite cinema experience since django.
Also Bradley cooper was huge, i've never seen an actor put on so much weight for a role.
division.bellthankfully it's not a Spielberg movie like it could have been.
what does that even mean?

Man I was just going to post a thread on Michael Moore's comment..."Snipers are cowards". That is the biggest load of pussy shit I have ever heard. Moore also said that his uncle was killed in WWII. Well my Great-Grandfather was also killed in WWII and my Grandpa's plane was shot down in Vietnam. That doesn't give me an excuse to be a little bitch. People like Michael Moore don't understand what soldiers go through. Actors and businessmen are self-centered and spoiled. God bless the soldiers, I Will be joining them in a year to destroy those ragheads.
Fantastic movie all around I thought. For anyone wondering who didn't read the book, the parts when he was home from his tours were pretty verbatim and all of the action scenes weren't exact, but were parallel to what really happened.
Trying not to give away any spoilers about any of the scenes, but it was a great movie and I'm glad we have guys like Chris Kyle on our side.
Micheal moore is a worthless douche. His movies suck, and he's just a fat douche. That said, I don't really get in on how much we glorify war. Anyone on our sides a hero anyone else is a a terrible person, and we'll fight all kinds of bullshit wars.
That said I like movies so I'll probably watch it and hopefully it's as good as I've heard.
Dobberdestroy those ragheads.
I agree with the sentiments and I support the armed forces, but no need for that kind of racial bigotry. Fox is getting to you.

I know you haven't seen it yet so I'm not going to give anything away, but I won't consider this a movie that glorifies war. The movie goes into great detail about how war changed Chris when he was back in Texas and how hard it was to readjust and open up to his family. Especially the ending and everything about PTSD.
S.M.GRacist propaganda. Completely demonizes Iraqis.
it was sexist too , wasn't it ?

Word. I've watched a ton of war movies as well. So I'm not in anyway opposed to it. Interested to catch it at some point.

how so? everything ive read/seen about the movie has been the fact that it touches up on how fucked up war is, what it does to humans, and what humans do to each other (i.e, the IED kid scene from the trailer.)
Havent seen the movie, but im genuinely interested if they nailed it this time around, or is it more patriotic bullshit.
Literally the best movie I have seen in a long time hands down. honestly hard to hold back tears in the end though.
S.M.GRacist propaganda. Completely demonizes Iraqis.
are you out of your mind?
if the movie "demonizes" anyone, its Al Qaeda... Not an entire nation.

fuck you
S.M.GRacist propaganda. Completely demonizes Iraqis.
and fuck you too!
Such a good and powerful movie. All the people that are saying that it glorifies war, demonizes Iraqis, etc apparently interpreted the movie very wrong. First, it shows how war made Chris Kyle a completely different person when he got home, with all of the PTSD stuff he goes through. Also, it doesn't "demonize Iraqis" whatsoever. Yeah, it demonizes the Taliban, but you'd have to be pretty dumb to think that was representing all Iraqi citizens.

oh shit, theres an undercover al qaeda on ns
dringlefuck Chris Kyle, that dude tried to disgrace Jesse "The Body" Ventura's name

lol enlighten on this please?
Just saw it - what a powerful movie. Never been in a full theater that empties without a single person saying a word.
It was ok. I didnt like how he kept calling his wife mid battle. Although I didnt read the book I highly doubt that happened. It was honestly more of an action movie than a than a good war movie. Just my two cents
S.M.GRacist propaganda. Completely demonizes Iraqis.
hahahahahahhahahaha. good.

nuke em all
I haven't read the book, but from what i've read, it stays pretty accurate to the book and Chris Kyle's actual story.
This movie does not glorify war, it doesn't paint the picture that all Iraqi's are bad people.
What it does do is show the effects of war on people, the effects of the terrible decisions that war makes people decide, the struggle of being in war then coming home to being a civilian, it does show the brutality of the Al Qaeda, it does show the extremes that they will go to, to hurt Americans.
and when this movie ended, you could literally hear a pin drop. no one said a word as we all filed out of our seats.
it really is a powerful movie.
holy shit sounds like every theater was silent after this movie jesus some people were balling and i even admit i felt absolutely terrible for the things i have taken for granted and not appreciated because of these men
