Finding Balance Sep 20th 2012

Started in 1939, Nordica has established itself as a trusted brand for anyone who straps two planks to their feet. Our experience and heritage is what sets us apart in the ski industry.

Nordica has a long list of products and influential skiers like Alex Schlopy, TJ Schiller, Rory Bushfield, and Bene Mayr, all of whom have helped to shape freeskiing worldwide. “We are stoked to announce a new direction to build upon the success of these global athletes and our products which have helped win X Games gold, Dew Tour stops and World Championships,” says Willy Booker, president of Nordica USA. “To further progress the brand and reach a wider audience, we felt it was time to find balance and focus on a segment of freeskiing that we see as the most influential in the market; the segment that we know the readers on Newschoolers care about most — film.”

Nordica is proud to announce the newest members of our family — Dale Talkington and Evan Williams. Dale, hailing from Weston, Vermont now living in Salt Lake City, has undoubtedly showed the freeski community what he is capable of. Known for putting out mind blowing video parts and his unique smooth style, Dale turns heads everywhere he goes. Among the many edits Dale has put out over the years, one of the most notable was the “Spring Edit” released in March of 2010 filmed and produced by Evan Williams. The duo shares the honor of having the most viewed video of all time on Newschoolers, with plans to continue putting out edits together into the future.

Evan Williams joins Nordica not only as an athlete but also as our new Digital Content and AM Team Manager. Evan, an original member of Nordica USA’s AM team four years ago, has established himself in the industry not only as a seasoned filmmaker with New Intel but as an athlete as well.  “We look forward to what both Dale and Evan will bring to the table this season,” said Booker. “With the addition of these guys combined with a re-envisioned freeski line dropping in 2013/2014 and our all new AM team, we really look to reach a whole new audience outside of the competition arena where we’ve been so successful.”

Nordica’s increased focus on video content led to the formation of an all-new AM team, whose focus will be on creating edits for the masses. The team, hand picked by Williams, is made up of athletes across the USA who have proven themselves through the craft of online videos. We love watching edits, and these guys love making them:

Be on the lookout for edits of the crew from the man behind New Intel being released all throughout the season on Nordica’s NSTV channel and by the independent producers each athlete shoots with. In the meantime, here’s a little edit to kick off the season featuring some of the new athletes!
