The

response to last year’s Thanksgiving weekend night-time Rail Jam was

overwhelming, and has prompted Belleayre Mountain to offer a whole

series of terrain park events for the upcoming 2006-07 season.  Each

month a different aspect of Belleayre’s terrain park will be featured,

giving park junkies a chance to show off their talents in all aspects

of freestyle.  All events cost only $10 to enter, and include a

different t-shirt for each event.        Kicking off the series

will again be the Thanksgiving weekend Rail Jam on Saturday, November

25.  The Rail Park will be set up on the lower part of Wanatuska trail

and will be open during the day to practice on.  A lift ticket is

required, and a discounted ticket is offered to competitors for only

$25.  Register between 9 am - 3 pm at the Overlook Lodge.

At 4 pm, enjoy the premiere of Tuckered Out Films' "Retrospect".

The Rail Jam will begin at 5 pm, with an hour to grind as many rails

as possible to impress the judges.  During an intermission where the

judges will select the top ten skiers and snowboarders, a live band

will rock the crowd inside the lodge.  During the finals, judges will

choose the top three skiers and riders, who will compete for great

prizes from the sponsors.  Last year, Belleayre got several pair of top

end skis and snowboards, hoodies, t-shirts, backpacks and tons of other

swag for prizes and give-aways.        The next event in the Jam

Series is on Sunday, January 7, with a Park Jam.  This slopestyle

competition will test your skills on the hip jumps, step downs and

table top jumps in the Area 51 Terrain Park.  The Half Pipe Jam is

scheduled for Sunday, February 4, and the Big Air Jam is Saturday,

March 3rd.  The events in January, February and March will be held

during the day, with registration held in the Overlook Lodge from 8 -10

am.  The competitions will start at 11 am, with finals held at 1:30 pm.

Our favorite DJ will be on the slopes throughout the series, pumping

out the tunes and keeping the crowd amped.<!--
