Halfpipe freestyle skier Sarah Burke is in critical condition in a coma after crashing in the halfpipe in Park City yesterday. She was training in the Park City Superpipe when she attempted a flatspin 540 that didn’t stick. Apparently she landed on her feet at the bottom of the pipe but then landed on her head.

The Park City Superpipe is the same halfpipe where snowboarder Kevin Pearce was injured back in Dec 2009. He suffered traumatic brain injuries, was in a coma but recovered and is now back on the snow.

All of our best wishes go out to Sarah and her family right now and we’ve got our fingers crossed that she makes a full recovery.

I’ll try to bring you more news when it comes in.
