MAMMOTH UNVEILS SUPER-DUPER PIPEMAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, Calif. – With the opening of the Unbound Super-Duper Pipe this week, Mammoth Mountain becomes the only place in the world riders can currently find all three sizes of half pipes: Super-Duper, Super and Mini. The freshly cut Super-Duper Pipe is 550 feet long and 58 feet wide vert to vert with 22 foot walls and 25 feet of transition. The Super-Duper Pipe joins the competition-sized 450 foot long Super Pipe that has 18 foot walls and 22 feet of transition, located in Main Park. The Mini Pipe rounds out Mammoth’s half pipe offerings with 10 foot walls and is located in the new, entry-level Wonderland Park. “We’ve been pushing this pipe for a few weeks now. Mammoth had the fourth snowiest January on record, which brought lots of powder days to the mountain and lots of snow in the pipe,” said Oren Tanzer, Director of Youth Action Sports. “The perfect weather we’ve had lately gave us an ideal window to cut the Super-Duper Pipe and open it up.” With an 8-10 foot base, Mammoth has ideal conditions on the mountain and in all three of its world-renowned parks. The new Wonderland Park is the place to dial in tricks on box tops that sit on the snow, short rail slides, banked turns, rollers and jumps. South Park is built in full force with its quadruple line of 30 footers. Legendary Main Park has jumps from 40 to 75+ feet and new jib additions, such as the Quiksilver Signature Feature.  The Mammoth Mountain Unbound Terrain Parks lead the industry in innovation and quality with three parks, three pipes, 64 jibs and 50 jumps on 90 acres of California’s favorite mountain resort. Using state-of-the-art equipment to provide a progressive environment for all levels, from beginners to a team of 15 professional athletes, the Unbound earns consistent ratings among the top parks of the world.
