ABallsOh you work out in one of those cool gyms. Do you have a trainer that helps you there or is it just a smaller open gym?
Side note: my ap stats teacher and I always discuss lifting in class, he's starting up a workout club in December once he is done coaching football and he said he'll help me with squatting. I'm glad he's starting this club now for the benefit of the underclassmen and future students, just wish I wasn't a senior this year so I could've spent more time in the club.
saskskierThat's awesome! Always good to have more experienced lifters who are willing to help out.
I workout in a Crossfit gym, but do my own thing. Eventually I'm hoping to get a weightlifting program going, but we'll see. It's a pretty basic set up in a warehouse/bay, but all you really need. Bars, plates, adjustable squat racks, pull up bars, dumbbells, some C2 rowers, med balls, plyo boxes and that's about it. The owners just bought the bay beside us, so the wall is going to come down and we'll double our space which is sweet because it's getting pretty tight some days.
ABalls@caligrown I remember you saying a while back that you did a 4 week bulk/ 4 week cut cycle. Could you go more in depth on that? I'd like to know more about it.
mr.houstonNeed some advice on pre workout supplements. A buddy of mine gave me some No X-plode to try out for a little bit and I really liked the whole adrenaline feel it gave me in the weight room but need some advice on how much to take/how I should take it. I read to drink a ton of water before and after but just looking for some basic advice. also wondering if anyone here uses C4 preworkout? I heard thats a good one as well.
Thanks!

WheatI like it but it gives me nasty shits and my farts are fucking knock out gas.
connecticuntAs soon as I get clearance from my doctor (probably in another 5 days), I'll be at the gym again every day for about 3 hours. My routine isn't nearly as hardcore as most of yours but I'm so ready to get back into great shape for ski season. Treadmill for an hour, then core, then legs, then back, then squats. If there's classes that day, I'll go to kickboxing, and if not I'll get back on the treadmill for a cool down for about 30 to 45 minutes.
I'm also five days into my carb cut and I feel amazing but I'm so craving a loaf of French bread.

louie.miragsI've only used c4 so I have no comparison but I like it. I take a scoop and half. I start sipping on 10 minutes prior to arriving. I dig the rush and the pump. I need it bad after a 8 hour work day to get some momentum going.

cobra_commanderHoly fucks. An hour and a half on the treadmill? Fuck that. Hitting your legs after running for an hour? And just coming back after an injury?
15hours a week in the gym?
mr.houstonThanks, Do you ned to drink a shit ton of water throughout the with c4?
louie.miragsThe c4 or no x-plode?
WheatOh forgot to say which. Im talking N.O Xplode. It gives me a great pump and extra energy but my god I could kill an old lady with the gas.
mirozYO! This thread needs some love, no one has posted in a while.
Did a little "meet" with some friends trying to see how much progress we made this semester. Hit a 335 lb squat, 235 lb bench, and 440 lb DL. Stoked to have broken into the 1000 lb club! That was my short-term goal.
New goals are to:
a) successfully complete a half marathon in June, and
b) DL and squat 2x my body weight, and bench 1.5x my body weight. I'm already there on DL, but my squat and (especially) my bench need work.
*Birdanyone remember the bodybuilder forum troll?

cornholioi need to cut out the sweets and junk food that show up in the office around the holidays.
.AR6rider.I was warming up squats yesterday and some fucker walked DIRECTLY under the bar at the beginning of a rep. I did some sort of like half hop shimmy thing to avoid killing him, feel a fantastic pop/grinding type of noise from my right hip area, aannndddd fuck. I managed to get the bar back up on the rack, but holy hell. I could barely sleep last night because every time I moved I got a shooting pain down my leg. Pretty sure I fucked something up in my groin and now I've been hobbling around the office all morning. So pissed at that kid.
TheFapTwo protein shakes a day too much?

louie.miragsI wonder the same shit... It is hard to find a good mid meal snack for work. Body builder bars have wayyy to much sugar. Raw almonds get expensive. yogurt has a lot of sugar. Beef jerky seems like it has too much sodium for a everyday snack. Sometimes I feel I am overthinking it...
mirozProbably fine. I've read that whey can cause kidney stones, so keep your water up too. But you probably don't need raw protein, couldn't you just eat or not eat?
TheFapIf I have a protein shake it will keep me full for a bit. otherwise I'll just end up snaking on pretzels or bagels and shit..
californiagrownThats cause you are a mental midget. You are going to feel hungry if you want to lose weight. Is it really that difficult to understand?
TheFaptrying to gain weight is harder for me then losing it. During Xcunt I was at 137.. now im at 158 goin for 170.. so eating shitty food could work but I'm trying the cleaner way

p.hawksGood. Most people that dirty bulk do it because they are lazy/looking for a shortcut (not counting calories, drinking alcohol, etc.). These same people are the ones who never really make it around to cutting, or they don't lift enough and eat too much (curls for the girls them slam a pizza). One thing that helped me to put on relatively clean weight was to turn late night snacks into more of a meal, occasionally with an afternoon meal between dinner (depending on work/gym schedule). Mostly regular meals, lots of chicken, but not overloading (easier to stick to). I also used myftinesspal to count calories, then I filled in what I needed to with protein shakes/snacks. The app is great because if you actually eat clean, it will tell you when you have room for a burger. I did this over the summer, went from 185ish to 205ish and lost body fat. This became a lot longer than I planned, but hopefully someone finds it useful.
TheFapYeah That sounds like what I have been figuring out over the past few months. what also helped me was a transition. I went from my old shitty eating habits and slowly ate healthier and healthier. I've tried eating healthier before and I would just go all out and then give up. now I actually can sustain good habits. and for my late night snacks I just cut up some cantaloupe and fruit and eat that, follow it with some nuts
louie.miragsI just ran out of c4 and i've been using it for 3-4 months already 3-4 times a week. I got up to about a scoop and a half preworkout and it worked pretty good. Towards the end though I wasn't feeling the same pump and extra energy. Any recommendations on what brand I should buy today? I want to try another brand. Or do I need to take a break from it for a little while?
TheFapTry prewrek by swole. The flavor is excellent and it gives you a really nice pump without the jitters and shit that some give me. It's $30 on Amazon I think. Get green apple it's the bomb
cobra_commanderAm I the only one who just has a cup of coffee as a 'pre-workout?'
It's all you need.
