So if he were to constantly pester you that you should kill yourself, by yelling obscenities at you, protesting outside your house every day, etc. that would be alright and you would respect it?
I agree with you, we should respect other people's beliefs if they don't push them on everyone else. The Westboro Baptist Church does this to an extreme, and for that I will disrespect the shit out of them, because they suck ass. Mormons do this as well by trying to convert me and you, and for that I disrespect what I view as wacky beliefs. I know Mormons who don't try to convert me or change my beliefs/abilities in any way, and they are great, fine people.
I believe that religious beliefs can be pushed through politics as well, and when someone's religious beliefs determine their policies that will affect my non-religious beliefs, I don't respect that either. With a potential future president of the Mormon faith, I believe I have reason to be concerned about his views (that I see as wack) being pushed on me through political actions.
I see religion as stupid, but would be fine on it if religious people didn't push their views on others. Unfortunately, religion wouldn't exist if religious folk didn't push their views on others, and this is why I see religion as a parasite to society. The end.
