Oh my god.. I can't believe what has been said in this topic. 

So maybe some of the opinions in the thread here are a bit out of whack.  But I've still heard some good reasons why or why not to tele in the park.

I'm not going to shove freeheeling down everyone's throat, and I can't understand why people would want to hate on something that they've never tried.  Even if you have,  "Opinions are like like ass holes,  everyone has one, and everyone else's stink".

Here's mine:

Arguing about this is like arguing whether or not to ski or board. Some people just prefer different things.

Arguing that you can't butter or nosepress on teles?  Wrong, you can do both, it just looks different. 

I prefer to tele because i think it's more fun, the same reason you prefer to ski over boarding.

Saying that it looks gay and stupid is the most gay and stupid thing I've ever heard.  I'm not going around saying, "Alpiners are buttfucking retards,  why don't they go lick the cum out of each others ass holes".    I don't even make fun of short skis or no-poles, people can do what they want,  if they do something cool, I'll say something.  But I would never make fun of someone that's having fun, and trying hard, no matter what they're riding.



I don't care what you ride, I'm obviously a tele-jibber and I still hang out on Newschoolers because our sports are so similar and I can still learn new and bring it over to my riding.

I know this isn't really going to get through many thick skulls,  but I hope it helps others understand why some people do it.

Let's not bash on each other's sport,  we're all on the hill for the same reason.

I meant lean forward sort of, everything looks semi stiff, just on rails though. And tele's do throw down I wasn't saying that, I just said they looked a little stiff. Thanks for the hate bomb though

Ty is fucking sick and a cool dude, but the claiming of  wood rails and hard way in that video is played, don't let that affect your view of tele. Think of how many shitty videos of alpine skiing we could pull off of NS and post, yet it wouldn't be an accurate representation of what's actually going on.

I see telemarking as just a part of skiing. It look awesome when people are actually using the knee drop, but almost seems pointless when the skiing lacks the knee drop though I will acknowledge that it is certainly harder to do some things.

oooold thread. I think telemarking is pretty cool to watch if they know what they're doing. I read an article sometime back about telemark jibbing and I gained a lot respect for them.
