i think that soon enough compnaies like salomon are gonna have their sales decrease because the companies like armada, 4frnt and other new compnaies or ones that are more into the freeski movemnet like k2, are gonna have more of the freesking worlds attention

but see salomon will always have a market because people have been riding salomon for a long time and its like brand loyalty. I'm pretty loyal to K2 cuz its what I've almost alwasy been on and they have kicked ass. so Salomon might have to share some ofthe twin tip market but they will still be one of the major contenders

Armada and 4frnt sell not even 1% of what a company like Rossi or K2 does world wide. Even Line is tiny compared to the big few companies. And all these rider owned companies focus on twins and twins are such a small segment of the ski industry. They do have their influence but most of the huge ski companies are European where racing is still far more popular than freestyle.

1080s aren't a bad set of skis. I think they will only progress with the skis unless they folow your theory and get shittier. Thats what you said isnt it?

first of all, you thing k2 is more loyal to freeskiing than salomon? anyway, salomon will never die out of the freeskiing because of their amazing team.

salomon doesnt have that good of a team. sure they did a long time ago when they had the new canandian air force, but right now candide and cr are about the only people they got right now.

ya i dont think the other big co. are gonna decrease in sales for freeride cuz all the rider owned skis are like $600, and i know there are alot of cheap bastards or ski bum with out that kind of money so they will stick with just as good salomon, k2 or whatever and get skis for like $400 or $330 like the pe

I have been buying salomon for like 2 yrs now ever since I started working in a salomon shop and got discounts and free rentals to demo stuff. But to be honest with you I've broken a shitload of salomon skis in the last two years. ( thats not to say i wouldnt have broken lots of other peopels skis too ) But I tried a shitload of skis at the industry demo and 99% were shitty nordica sucked the worse that beast ski is fucking garbage

Its good to see that rider commpanies r gettin more attention (if thats really true) even though ompanies like salomon may start to get ignored by people that are really into to newschool, and are concerned with supporting our sport, they will still have lots of twin tips sold, because most kids that are either just trying to do the cool thing and have twin tips, kids just starting with freeskiing, will buy salomon skis, im not saying that because u own a pair of salomon boards u fall into this catagory, but at my mountain for example this was the first year we had a park and all the racers that have never heard of jibbing until had their parents go buy em a pair of the 161 green 1080's, those r probably the most ommon ski, but anywyas ive ranted for to long now, im out

I agree that salomon will always be the choice of racers who want to be freestylers when they grow up.

new companies always get attention, eventually they will either be forgotten or become like the rest, because there isnt too much you can do to progress ski making anymore. 4frnt brings out a new construction, they make the years best sales, what do the other companies do? either copy or make a slight change to try and equal or get more sales. eventually every mostly park ski will have the same construction, different flex for nose and tail presses, be made at a good weight, and have close to the same warranties. all the pow skis will be wide and have close to the same flex . then someone will come out with something different, and the companies will try and expand their line to compete with them. every company will come out with a new idea, but it will be only new for a year or two, like the idea of shaped skis.

if you read my message carefully, i wasnt dissing salomon, or saying they make a bad product. Its just new companies with sick teams that are rider driven may get more kids hyped on on that brand, making more sales.

thtas cause they didnt mass distribute the armada skis last year, only a few shops had em and they only offered like 20 pairs of each ski online, my friend talked to somone high up in armada cause he plaed a large order for his shop and the guy said they only offered a few online, partially to hipe up the fact that the skis r sellin out fast, but youll probably see more of them this year i think
