It is with great sadness that we share with you the loss of a friend and dedicated CADS Durham volunteer, Rick McColl. Rick's life was cut short on Thursday, when he was struck and fatally injured by a passenger train in Pickering while performing his duties as CN Rail Assistant Track Maintenance Foreman. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. A resident of Hampton, Ontario, Rick was 53 years of age and only months from retirement. He leaves behind his wife Pam and two sons, Ben and Harley. His passions were his family, his cottage on Vader Lake, music, sailing with his best mates and downhill skiing. Rick inspired a love of skiing with his family, and shared his knowledge and enthusiasm as a dedicated volunteer with the Canadian Disabled Ski Association (CADS) Durham program at Brimacombe for more than 10 years. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. Rick will truly be missed. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Disabled Ski Association http://www.disabledskiing.ca On-line condolences may be left at http://www.courticefuneralchapel.com.
