Do you use it? Is it worth it? Or can I just Jerry rig some ducktape around my liner?
heel lift is hitting this time of year

Gear Talk
I had ZipFits last year, going to get them again next season in a different model.
This year I'm in intuition tour wraps, and the full tilt Ascendant SC shell is a bucket. Heat molded my liners and they were great for a while, but I just started skiing with the patriot liner sleeves and it helps a ton. I'm perfectly happy with the way my boots ski for the rest of this season. For $40 and fast, free shipping and great customer service you can't go wrong trying em

Helll yea, def will consider the intuitions next season but for now I’m gonna give the patriots a shot!
But yea this should probably be in gear talk ooops @eheath
I use them and they work great. I've bought a bunch of Patriot products and they are all top quality and work so well.
Try their shock absorbing footbeds also. I've bought a couple of custom footbeds in the past ($200+) and not only do my Patriots perform better but they're 100x more comfortable, specially if you're riding long days in the park.
How to say your custom footbeds weren't properly customized without actually saying it. Great to hear you're got it sorted out tho!

The 2 shops I had them done in (Footloose Mammoth and Surefoot Whistler) did a good job, it's just the material used that makes a huge difference for me. Most custom footbeds are dense, rigid and don't have any shock absorption. Patriots have all that but with the extra cushion where you need it if you are landing lots of airs.
Yeah, that's my understanding as well and I've always thought these two as separate concepts which you need both.

I tried them but they were too thick / liner not loose enough yet because they took up too much room.
I have the older model freeride footbeds and like them alot better than the custom ones I had in a different pair of boots.
I went to order another pair of the footbeds and they were out of my size in the old ones. Customer service was good they sent me the new model . I don't like them though. The arch is in a different spot and higher and the harder material made my feet hurt so much. So now I have the old ones back in again.
I've used various Sole, Superfeet, and Patriot footbeds. If you don't want to shell out for custom built footbeds you can try a few of these to see if the arch works for you, but after about the fourth pair you try, you're at the same ballpark for how much a pair of custom built ones costs...

Fwiw I've gotten all my sole and superfeet footbeds off eBay for like $20-30 a pop.

Sized down from 26.5 to 25.5. hated the soft cuff on the freeride model. Ordering Garas to use next season.
CowboySkibopHOOOOOLY FUCKKKKKKim a pro skier now
Damn they fr work that nice?
I’m broke asf and can’t get proper work done/a new boot. Thing is busted, have two volume spacers in each one so this might be the move.

Yea I put volume spacers in plus sleeves. It was an instant game changer. Nosebutters are goin crazy now and I feel so connected to my skis
Tell me you ski in way too big of a boot without actually telling it to me.

Yeaaa, I don’t know how tho cuz I rock 26.5 and it feels slightly big but not bad, and 25.5 is too small on me. I got weird feet
Go see a bootfitter. Most likely they're going to put you in a 255 boot which suits your foot shape better than the current one.
How do I know? Skied a 275 Dalbello Krypton four years back, then a 265 FT TWP for a season, since that been in a 255 FT Dropkick and might go for a 245 race boot in a few weeks.

I'm a 5mm shell fit in my Ascendant SC's, and I have a 105+mm forefoot and high instep. The ankle area is a little big. The patriot thing works great on my 50+ day packed out ass intuitions to get me through the rest of the season, but I'll be back in ZipFits next season, 100%. Spending $500 at the end of the season vs. $40 was a no brainier, and they do the trick!
For people who are new to skiing, get used or past season boots to save money, or don't know what the hell size their feet are, this could be a good solution until they can see a proper bootfitter. For some, who don't know if skiing will "click" with them, don't get out many days a year, or are just learning, can't justify or afford buying new boots and getting boot work done with a fitter, this is also a good solution. and it can seem pretty intimidating.
Mostly, those types of folks won't even know if their boot fits like trash until they start getting better at skiing and begin to experience pain and issues as a result of terrible fit.
Obviously going to a boot fitter is always the first and correct answer
I'm fuckin baked rn
Yes.

Can definitely recommend the liner sleeve as well as all of patriot's boot products (their socks are really good too!). Also, the owner Craig is such a rad and friendly guy - definitely worth supporting his business!
