title. should i get the park detune for the mango 110’s and if i do, how much does it affect out of park skiing
Makes rails sick, just gotta make sure your contact points are sharpened so you kinda have an edge
You should just detune yourself if you want to. ON3P does a really good job but you can easily do it. Also then you can rip around for a bit with a nice edged new ski before detuning and bringing them into the park.
Buy a gummy stone and run it along your edges underfoot, can’t really fuck up and you can always detune it more.
omgeeitslexii dont trust myself to do a detune tbh.
okay i’ll see. how much underfoot should i detune? like up to +10 -10 from toe and heel?

However much edge you think you’ll use on the rail, everyone pedals differently using different amounts of the ski. At least like 5 cm to be sure.
a lot, you barely have an edge underfoot
omgeeitslexiand how much would it affect out of park ?
hm then maybe ill just go 2 ski quiver. might just not touch my mango 110's and just pick up a mango 90 or revolt 90 in the off season
You can pick one of the two features in a ski:
1) the ability to hit rails with confidence and high success rate
2) the ability to carve properly
If you go for 1, detune hard underfoot (and slightly under bindings if you're still learning the basics of hitting rails). To a point where the edges are completely round & smooth and you couldn't hurt a baby's butt with 'em. If you feel any kind of hesitation in doing it yourself, trust a professional. You can fuck your skis for good if you don't know what you're doing. A proper detune will give your edges massively longer lifespan compared to just dulling them a bit or not detuning/dulling at all.
If you go for 2, have them sticks always in good wax & bases grinded (these actually count for 1 as well) and edges sharpened every once in a while and carve like there's no tomorrow. This is something you simply can not properly achieve with your edges detuned.

You also want a hard detune on the tip & tail edges as well. The parts which never touch snow if you're not crashing or buttering, and if you're doing one of them, having round edges help you to have a more consistent outcome.
yea i’m def gonna get the tips detuned, and i like messing around on rails but also love hitting kickers. idk if i should just go 2 ski quiver or if i should detune the mango 110
Hitting jumps is irrelevant for this question. You can carve hard enough for any jump or any trick with a detuned ski
