lots of them have mad talent but no disrespect im tired of social media skiers and the repetitive types of edits or templates to farm likes. Maybe im the wrong but I'm in the wrong but I don't think I'm the only one. People like Bruce Oldman, Andri Ragettli, Jackson Karsteter, as well as all the tiktok skiers are becoming pretty corny in my opinion. I would much rather see people like Sam Lobinsky, Forster Meeks, Tucker Fitzsimmons, Sleepy Grill, etc. Once again no hate just let me know what you think.

”I would much rather see these skiers, who literally all post reels constantly” bro all those people, sleepy, Meeks, tfitz, are Instagram warlords what are you saying??
Also fuck the Jackson karseter hate he’s buck as hell I don’t care what anyone says, steezy as fuck as well (when he’s not trying NBD’s). Bruce oldham makes corny reels but he’s also genuinely disgusting and I wish he posted more edits tbh . Andri idc about lol
STEEZUS_CHRI5TCan someone explain to me the beef with TW pros? Since when is a Tom Wallisch boot a bad thing?
they're not boots, they're skis. And apparently their durability sucks. Tons of reports of them falling apart rather quickly over the years. I've never skied them
People complaining about social media like they’re forced to interact with creators they don’t like is more annoying than said creators.

then just follow sleepy and lobinsky and not the other guys, if u don't want to see Bruce oldhams reels just don't follow or interact with them lol
i get none of them on my feed bc i never followed them or liked any posts, just do that
can someone enlighten me a little here- what is a 'social media skier' exactly? are people annoyed at others for posting their content online? Where else are you supposed to put your edits and whatnot, besides NS or course?
just an anecdote about social media in general but last winter i met some dudes at northstar shredding the park. they were from chile and when i suggested we exchange contact info so we could link up another day, they asked for my instagram, as opposed to phone #. i'm inferring from this experience that a lot of younger folks use their social media accounts to communicate directly with their friends as opposed to texting or calling. maybe i'm just an old fogey

The skis not the boots. There’s no way these Instagram skiers that ride tw are not going through less than 4 pairs a year

my definition would be someone who’s skiing content mostly or only appears on instagram and tiktok. a lot of “social media” skiers aren’t often seen in the streets or in high quality edits.
STEEZUS_CHRI5TCan someone explain to me the beef with TW pros? Since when is a Tom Wallisch boot a bad thing?
TWP skis are kind of a joke now. They were dope when they came out but people been skiing them for a year or two found out how poorly made they are. Basically a “hypebeast” ski and people just buy them because of Tom Wallisch’s name on it not because of the quality. Never skiied them, probably never will. Someone I know lasted 6 weeks on em’ before they spotted a delamination. Not saying if you have them your a bad person or anything, just if you really want skis that are going to last, you should reconsider
for what it's worth... line rep told us that all of the durability issues have been solved and that the ski should hold up more like a normal ski from next year on. also the limited edition traveling circus chronics that we just received for sale were built with a FULL SIDEWALL and feel way better than the last few years of line stuff. hoping they do the same for the regular chronic and tw pro in this coming year

I think the attractive blons that go “touring” and never post a single video or photo of something they actually ski or them skiing is ridiculous. Seem to have time to write a 30 page caption with overly positive vibes and a million hashtags but not get a clip. Cosplay skiers basically.

Yeah its like they think they have to look at social media.
Also @fregoso, your list of "bad" social media skiers is all over the place, andri is a multi-world cup winner, multi-xgames metal athlete and jackson is dude from the midwest who hits rails. You then followed it with a list of skiers you "like" who post/do the same shit every other instagram skier does? Sounds like you just dont like certain people, why do you follow them?

I know, it’s just a shame that selling out is the norm.
STEEZUS_CHRI5TI know, it’s just a shame that selling out is the norm.
When has selling out not been the norm?
Also, doing something you want to do and making money from it isn't a negative thing. Wouldn't you like to make money by skiing and filming yourself? IDK i think the whole "sell out" trope is immature and completely ignoring how one sustains income in their lives.

You mean... agree? I feel like at this point you're just saying things to say them with absolutely no thought.
Bruce Oldham is a massive plague on the industry. It’s one thing to do clickbait, it’s another to scam little 12 year olds into using their parents credit card so you can get “exclusive coaching” from dipshit bruce and fucking jackson karester. What’s sad is that Bruce 100% knows he’s scamming, he knows his courses have no value and he knows his target demographic is kids who genuinely don’t know any better. He still continues to pimp out his fucking slope academy despite the fact he’s a very privileged individual who got where he is (along with his sister) by mummy and daddy paying for real coaches, not some stupid discord server. The kids never had a goddamn real job in his life but is doing this grift so mummy and daddy can keep patting him on the back and he can keep doing this while his sister is actually contributing to ski culture in the X games and stuff. If the ski industry had any balls, his sisters sponsors would blackball her until little Brucey gets off his scamming hustle and quits pimping out the shittiest amazon products but nope here we are, the whole industry sits by silent while little trust fund bruce scams 13 year olds online for really no good reason because he comes from money.
eheathYou mean... agree? I feel like at this point you're just saying things to say them with absolutely no thought.
I miss the days when he still skied, but gotta respect the guy for how well he's done for himself. Any other skiers (current or former) building custom multi-million dollar boats or renovating huge mansions around the world?
Generally speaking, I don't like "influencers", regardless of what sphere they're in (mtb is also really bad). That said there is a huge amount of work that goes into it, particularly to have any kind of success. Like, probably way more work than my 9-5 desk job. If you want to put that work in and you find some success, good for you. Even if it's cringe-y af.

The fact that moron's last two outwear sponsors have been Virtika and now Dope Snow should say literally everything about that kid.

I was being short to avoid ranting/arguing.
Just because selling out is “the norm”, that doesn’t make it right. These people are chasing internet clout for empty gratification and money. There’s more to life than that.
Making money skiing doesn’t mean you have to clickbait and sellout on tik-tok. I also don’t think taking a stance against selling out is immature, I just have a different opinion than you. I’m more passionate about my friends, family, and career which is why I feel this way.
As for Jon Olsson, he’s chased money and clout his whole life. People always said how perfect his life was. Now he’s 40, divorced, lost half his assets, and only gets to see his kids when Mom says.

Jon Olsson making money is not correlated to his personal life issues, what an awful assumption.
My only point is why would you turn down making money doing something you love? Just to "not sell out"? its a stupid argument, everyone needs to make money in life.

Wasn't the divorce amicable? Where did you hear he hear he lost half his assets or that he only gets to see his kids when she wants? Not every break-up is ugly and it doesn't seem like theirs was a bad one? But unless you know them, who actually knows, right?
Either way, he seems like he's stoked on life and even if he's lost half his assets, is still worth more that pretty much anyone here?

Actually, Jon Olsson’s materialism and clout chasing is exactly what broke his family apart. Your comment is surprising considering you clearly don’t know the story.
You’re twisting my words. I wouldn’t turn down money to do something I love. I would turn down money to do something inauthentic. It takes an ounce of pride.
