Was bored waiting for a flight home and realized that PPP loan data was public and started looking up some local ski areas. That then transformed in anything tangentially related to skiing. If your bored there are some interesting finds to be had. https://projects.propublica.org/coronavirus/bailouts/
Mountain Gazette issue 197 earlier this year was all about this and even included famous social media ski influencers as well as other outdoor personalities and their paper trails....Really makes ya think huh? I hope those vanlife trips and new sleds were fun to have though!
It's in print mostly but there was a good week of people fired-up over it IIRC absolutely lambasting the likes of Cody Townsend and others. But tbf what US government program isn't going to get abused? But I don't think the ownership family of Alta Lift Company LLC should be getting a bailout

Man I didn't even see the second one. That's crazy
Dub post but anyone else not really shocked either? Like wealthy people and especially families are good at coming up with ways to find loopholes in stuff and take advantage. All these skiers/ski companies/film crews/etc. borrowing PPP money just reaks of dad telling them they should because he probably did the same thing for his shell companies.
And yeah I am only slightly jealous my parents weren't total crooks.
DeebieSkeebiesborrowing PPP money
interesting word choice. Nobody paid that shit back.
