I feel like I can't progress. I'm always trying to do new tricks but I can't do it. Today I've been jibbing a rail to learn blind 2 and I didnt do it. I feels like I'm blocking on rails.
You have to be comfortable having a pole between your legs and riding it. Hit your homies up for a group session, thats what I do
for blind 2 is pretty much just about looking over your shoulder. but for rails in general just hike a lot and really think about what your doing and what you need to do while on the rail and before.

Then go send some side hits, fool around a bit. Too much rails gets me kinda burned out. I’m on the lift alone rn actually lol sometimes u just gotta go solo dolo 🤷♀️
When you get frustrated like this , go do something else for awhile. Come back to the rail later or even just wait for the next day if you can. Alot of times you need that night of sleep for the mind to process everything and the body to rest.
Try a large variety of tricks. That’s what keeps me going
Work on pop on rails thats key for spins. Also scussoring
am in the same situation with snowboarding, i just worked on jumps more for a couple weeks then got back into it
Freeskiing is a repetition sport. Eat shit and repeat. Slide the rail to a point where you have the level of comfort and confidence to try something like that. It takes somewhere between a 100 and 1000 tries, depending on your level of athleticism and skiing ability. There's a ton of good content in youtube as well. Stomp It tutorials has got a high quality web course with a decent price tag. That's how I learned.

It's cause you haven't taken the proper steps to success. Step number 1 is to do it on an iced up 2x4. Then you can take it to rails, now you probably think I'm joking... I'm not, it's easy, find a 2x4. Ice it up. Sesh the 2x4. Then hit a rails I'm telling you, the difference will be night and day.

no such thing as can't. you do. or do not.
Practice on boxes first, the take them to the rails? Blind 2 is not an easy trick.

correction blind 2 is the only trick
I can't do a 90 on and off a box to save my life, and that's after 3 months of trying, trust me, you're not the slowest progressing skier out there.
ski with some buddies or other locals at the hill that are also learning new stuff - or better yet, ski with someone who is flat out better than you. I mean I don't have to do that because I'm like the best rider at my mtn but you know there are options
**as I proceed to catch my edge on a completely zeeched front 270 off of a flat rail**

Rails are all about scissoring/wedging.
How angled is your front ski pressing on the side of the rail? Scissor a lot! Bend your front knee lifting your heel to your butt. The ski should be very angled with the tip pressing into the side of the box.
Point your front arm forward down the hill. Then pull that arm in to spin the blind 2 while you pop and look over your shoulder.

you might have a point about slowest progression
hike, literally the only answer. I’ve never learned a rail trick from lapping
Might be hitting the ceiling of what your bad technique will allow you to do. I don’t mean that to be critical but if you are not progressing time to go back to basics
