Yoo anyone knows why Oystein stepped our from comps? Or is it just a break?
Think he just wants to have some fun. Talked to him before the season last year and he was just stoked to ski. Dont think he will quit comps all together. But as i see it, he would just want to ski, be with his lady friend and live life.
competing is really stressfull. I know 3 of the skiers on the Norwegian freeski team and they all think travelling for comps is exhausting.
He won an Olympic gold medal in 2018. I don’t blame him for chilling during this hectic Olympic season.
Plus skiing non stop is super hard on your body
Henrik told me himself that oystein has left volkl and picked up a pair of river wetts and white pivots to become the swerve god he’s always dreamed about. He threw away his goggles and picked up some swishy track pants, not the adidas ones tho, pee stained hole in the knee thrift store ones. He headed to mt hood to pursue the slush and sun and on the way he stopped by his new found plug for a kilo. He now lives in his car surviving off photosynthesis and cigarettes. Life is good, life is swerve

The good ending
Idk but he’s always had a pretty clean style in comps but with the longer wider skis and long poles his style is only getting better
