Local shop just hooked me up with a free mount and nice discount on some pivots.
My skis are almost here but was going to bring them over to them once they are mounted.
Anyways, ski techs what 6 pack would you like to have?

I think a bottle of Jack Daniels would probably give you more cred lol
This. Spot on.

Most of our tips come in the form of either local IPAs or PBR.
If they’re millennial they’ll want some hard seltzer’s 🥰
I usually ask them or I just tip them in hard cash so that they can have some beer $$$ to treat themselves too after work.
I only bring my tech whiskey. Last year I brought him a bottle of Blanton's. The year before was Mckenna single barrel. If I was going to see him this year it would probably be a single barrel Buffalo Trace store pick.
The ON3P factory gets beer because @iggyskier still has not opened a bottle I brought him 3 years ago.
30 rack of miller high life or just tip good
They usually have a “shop beer” if you ask

Pro tip wait until he’s done drilling to provide whiskey 😂

Go for a case of Rainier if you want to hookup the whole shop. If it’s just a single tech do a sixer of a locally brewed IPA, or a case of Rainier.
Nah def booze after mount

what? is this a thing? tipping is not normal in norway at all. it's actually insulting to tip at restaurants. but never heard of people tipping beers to a ski tech? that's illegal here
You can GTFO bringing me a bunch of hipster IPA's.
Just messing... kinda. For real, bring me mexican beer.

Good ideas below. A six pack is being cheap. Like cheap tippers suck.
hoodratz4730 rack of Pabst

Prolly cant go wrong with some Blue Dream or Girl Scout Cookies
OCoffeyI heard they love hams
Hamms is hella underrated. Walmart still has racks for $12.99 sometimes and it’s basically the same as pbr

Where are you finding Blantons so easily that you can hook a shop up with!? That's a dope tip!
My guy isn’t much of a drinker but if you bring him some nice hash rosin or mushrooms then you’re getting a+ service.
I'd also say that most wouldn't think of this, but I will always take a free lunch over beer any day. haha

Welcome to America. The land where tips pay your salary.

If I see one I just grab it. I don't think it's worth the hunt, and is not THAT good of a bourbon. But it makes a nice gift for normies who think it's super amazing.

hahah totally agree, lots of better single barrels out there. But cheers to you for hooking the tech boys up with it, still a nice bottle! I've never seen it while casually looking.
Truly though, cash is king. Best way to tip.

Yes a pizza or two is always a great move
If you're in Colorado, SKA is the best bet for sure

Me personally, i would rather have someone just hand me a cash tip worth however much they would have spent on the beer. But thats just me.
Seen a lot of techs over the years flirt with alcohol problems, and a few that went full on alcoholic and will struggle with it for life.
A sixer of yellow beer with a ten or twenty tucked into it is gonna earn you more kudos than any local IPA ever could.

That is a good point too
Thanks y’all, sounds like I’m going with cash as it seems like it’s the most useful

Best idea for real. But more than just a six packs worth. ;-)
Definitely I was thinking like 30 or whatever the mount would have been

Are all shop techs alchys or something? Because y'all must be bringing them hella beer
Interesting! But yes most people who work industry jobs in ski towns in the states would always appreciate a beer or a joint! Or both !

While I agree with the whole "tips are stupid and your wage should be enough" thing, I'd hate to work as a tech without people bringing me booze.
I have experienced this traveling in other countries and don’t understand it because I see tipping from my own American viewpoint. It’s a simple cash bonus saying “thanks for doing an awesome job” like how is that ever a bad thing? Being thanked in money even if it’s not customary? If I’m trying to express my gratitude, how should I do it if not with money? A hug? Like that’s a genuine question.

It's Mexican beers and anything remotely similar to Hamm's/rolling rock/miller high life.
Don't go fancy, it's too uncomfortable to drink in the back
I mean, the nice stuff is nice to get. But the easy stuff drink that isn't a whole meal always has a next level appreciation
