I am trying to find a replacement for my beloved Armada ARVs 98 from 2007, now in pieces. (Yep 2007 was my peak, been downhill since then). I just want a ski as light, flex, fun & poppy as this one. They didn't carve terribly well, but were perfect in the park and held their own in pow alright. Is my best bet still ARVs? How about Faction CT 2.0.... that seems like it might be a good contender? TIA 🙏
Pure park ski or whole mountain playground?
I only spend like 20% time in the park, but care a lot more about getting the ski right there than having the perfect all mountain charger. So..... tending towards pure park.
I can't keep up with the annual changes to the CT and Prodigy from Faction...they seem to waiver from light and flexy to heavy and stiff.
K2 Reckoner 102, Sego Big Horn 96, ON3P magnus/mango 102, there are many ~100mm park/all-mountain skis with a nice balance of flexibility and pop.
Oof this from the ns review of k2 reckoner is basically exactly what I loved about the ARVs. Sounds like a great contender.
"They are far better on jumps/drops than they have any right to be. The profile and flex seem perfectly balanced such that you can easily flex them when you want to, but they do give still give a pretty solid landing platform."
I love the faction ct 2.0. I had 4 pairs over the years and loved them. They changed it up this year to be little different so I bought instead prodigy 3.0. Now the Ct is a little stiffer so better for big mountain stuff, but the prodigy has a softer tip and tail than the old version. The ct is also symmetrical and little thinner so they also are little lighter. Both a good all mountain ski.
@goatmaster can you help me figure out which year CTs are stiffer/flexier?! I am looking at the 2021/2022 (so last year's) CT 2.0 in outlet. Was this one of the years that still had a flexier ski or is it in the stiffer range for the series?! thanks 🙏

I believe that this season and lasts are a bit stiffer. The season before I believe are the softer ones. They ct isn't a super soft ski no matter what year. If you want soft go with this or last years prodigy. I could be a little off with the years. Faction makes it really confusing and doesn't give a lot of information so I would email them.
@goatmaster thanks a lot! that's helpful, really appreciate it ✌️
