Do you think I would notice a difference using my skins that are cut for my 108’s on my 116s ????There’s just a tiny gap of base showing before the edge
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that Cyd Whitling (I got his name wrong 100%) guy use like 1 inch thick skins on his powder skis, I think you should be big chillin
I wanted to make my 102 skins work for my 116s. But I ended up dishing out $200 for new ones because I didn’t wanna risk slipping around while traversing/climbing super steep and icey shit
For most of the time, yea, it'll be fine. Occasionally if you are traversing a steeper slope with firm snow you might find yourself slipping but it'll be manageable
Yessir those should work just fine. Ive ran a bigger gap on two touring setups and it is no issue

i might be wrong but i think he had those for long flat traverses to get more glide.
to OP you’ll most likely be okay but some slippage may happen on steeps and hardpack
If you're skinning through powder and/or established skin track, then you'll be fine. Might get hairy on hardpack or traverses.
yes it won't ever be an issue, that's .4cm on each side of the skin before the edge. you're chilln
everybody in this thread gangster til they til try to climb a steep slope on those skins
Better yet, traverse

I cut my skins for 117's on 107's, always works super well, you'll be fine

you'll be alright for the mellow-er parts of the walk up but things might get a little frustrating on steeper terrain and traverses like others have said. id go big on skins and then trim-to-fit the size to avoid any and all issues.
