To all my editors on NS what’s the best software to use for edits. Nothing stupidly expensive ofc
I cracked an old version of premiere pro. Fairly easy to do and its a complete professional software. If you don't wanna do that I personally liked Imovie (Mac) because it was simple to use and did the job. Some of my favourite work has been done on Imovie

I have been using iMovie for everything and it works decently well. I don’t have a mac so I have to do it on a phone which is the problem
I honestly don’t like the cc version of
premiere just because the user interface isn’t super friendly and it’s kinda complex. If you trim a clip in iMovie it automatically moves the rest of the clips up for you but in premiere you manually have to ripple delete the open space. Small shit like that just gets really annoying and it’s littered with it but I can’t complain too much because I get it for free through my college.
hitfilm express and davinci resolve both work very well. Hitfilm is more beginner friendly
I use MS paint to create absolute banger edits

Just an FYI you can ripple trim in premiere pro, just gotta press B to change the mouse setting

Good man
If you own a Mac and are accustomed to iMovie then FCPX is the next upgrade. Easy to torrent and download, bing bang boom.
PP is great too I’ve had a hard time cracking it with the new subscription model.
best editing software is the one you can afford and make some dope edits. At the end unless you are doing some crazy effects, masking or titles/texts the base software installed will be fine. Just cutting clips and adding some tracks.

Davinci Resolve. As complicated as you want it to be and still free.
Davinci Resolve is the best. It has the best color grading and render/export quality

haha dude, alright man
Premiere is the best, its the most used editing program, use whatever you want its basically all the same, but most professionals use adobe.

As you can tell I’m far from a professional

Your reasoning is just the most silly thing ive ever seen, but like I said use whatever program they all do the same thing.
Editing has little to do with the program, and a lot to do with techniques you apply. As stated, Premiere is the most popular for MANY reasons and it is what I personally use. That being said, Adobe has 7kajillion dollars yet their programs still crash lol. Resolve is free and yes it is incredible for color work...
But the fact of the matter is, you should learn editing techniques, and not just memorizing how to button push in one program.
All that said, if you made me tell you what to try, Premiere has the most community support and how to's available for new editors. Also the way it integrates with After Effects, Audition and Media Encoder is really what sets it apart from other standalone programs.
