I want to get a new pair of bindings for my skis and I already own a pair of pivot 18s on one of my skis already. Is it worth it to buy an extra pair of bindings or should I opt for something more inexpensive?
I have 3 pairs of pivots, can't have top many.
It's annoying to ski on pivots and then have to use for example griffons that are just weak-ass wobbly pieces of plastic bullshit.
just do it, you know you want them

cant argue
I got 10 pairs+ of pivots, still dont hate griffons
adjustability, ability to use other soles etc... 1/2 to 1/3 of price, lower weight...

I have pivot's that can be used with different soles and griffons that can't be. Then again I've had the same one pair of boots for 6 years so can't say I've ever utilized that.
Adjustability is a huge plus for griffons, can't argue with that.
I like them and i hated my markers if u already have a binding u like theres no need to buy pivots but id say their nice
I got pivots and griffons, griffons slide like a mf, pivots are the move they should be on sale rn too in most shops
I have a pair of Tyrolia Attack 13 bindings, which feel like an extremely solid pair of bindings, especially compared to my cheap bargain-basement look xpress 10 bindings. Very durable and cheap, (I got them for £90 at my local ski shop.) and a very good binding for your money. I've never been on a pair of pivots, so can't compare, although it mystifies me as to how a pair of bindings, no matter how good they are, could cost up to £400.
If you can afford it, go for it. It's nice having a consistent engagement between both pairs of skis.
If you want something adjustable (like letting a buddy try your skis for a day / getting new boots soon) or if the $400 is a squeeze, I vote go with something a little cheaper. Most, if not all bindings on the market are pretty good these days
I have tons of skis with pivots that don't fit my proper stiff boots now ;) so yeah struggle IS real. mostly the skis that dont need it though.
I have a pair of rental bindings, salomon warden 13 i think. Earlier this season I broke my humorous pretty badly in 3 spots after landing in someone else's bomb hole on a 30 foot cliff. I am happy to report that my rental bindings didn't eject when I landed and I didn't torque my leg or anything. After surgery I'm feeling much better but I still missed the latter half of my season ;(
Ive only ever rode pivots for a few laps on @h3nry. skis. Personally I like my attacks a whole lot more. You feel like your more attached to the ski, I understand that they dont acctually have that much more strength then the pivots if any but it feels like your in the ski which i liked
Pivots look cool, but for the price tyrolia attack 13s are better. Salomon sths are good too because of the secureness of the feeling when you are clipped in. But any of these bindings are good.
other bindings are meh.
