Faux-leather motorcycle jackets may be the move for east coast skiing and urban. Not great for powder I imagine but they are designed to fight road rash, so I imagine them holding up to crashes on icy-ass eastern slopes or concrete. Plus a lot of them come with armor (granted mostly on irrelevant places for skiiers like shoulders back and elbows) and look pretty hot, and are waterproof sometimes too. If someone sold a version with rib/flank armor I'm sure they would sell like hotcakes.
Bro a normal jacket protects u from ice and an xxl motorcycle jacket doesnt have the same swaggin potential that somethin from henriks closet does
It’s not too late to delete this thread op

Jean jackets are way cooler, especially if they're covered in patches
motorcycle jackets are designed to protect you from turning into street pizza if you fall on asphalt. A bit overkill for snow imo, even if it's icy. I wouldn't wanna ski in mine when ski jacket/snowpant material/goretex/etc works just fine and is way lighter.
Yall are right about the weight and overkill etc but think about the style. If Daniel Hanka started wearing one (which he totally should), a ton of people would hop on board
I feel like its somehow akin to wearing a ruroc helmet
