I wouldn't expect any ski that wide to do well on groomers, op are you basically looking for a pow ski that you'd be ok riding everyday?
Jeffrey
black ops
I also see a lot of people riding the bent chet 120s on pretty normal days
personally I rock my ghost trains most days (126 underfoot). Both the Jeffrey and B-ops would seem to do fine just about everywhere.

Something like that.
Im thinking the armada JJ UL, they look great for everything. OR the qst 118

For sure, honestly there are some fat skis that can edge well and some that can't. Based on that, the most versatile ski is moreso the ski that fits your style the best and the conditions you'll ride (for example in Co I don't really need a 120+ pow ski but in the pnw or California it could be more justifiable)
Catamarans are supposed to be pretty good on groomers
how tall/heavy are you? thinking meeeeh to QST, quite a few other better here mentioned.

The JJ UL is the direct opposite of great for everything. It weighs less than 1800 grams per ski in a 185, what gave you the impression that it’s a versatile ski? It’s almost as soft as the Blend and it weighs as much as a pair of tech bindings, its terrible in everything except untouched pow.
You kind of named the least versatile pow skis to be honest. You want something with a bit of camber, some heft, some stiffness, and not a ton of taper. Yea all those things make it less smeary in pow but what make it better in groomers. The suggestions on the thread are good - wildcat black ops etc. or just get a mindbender 108ti and profit
I am 58 59 Ish 150 pounds

Black Crows Nocta, full rocker but it edges fine on all but the most icey groomers.
It's probably not the *most* versatile but it is very versatile.

Do you really believe the AGR II is the MOST versatile pow ski?
Only if you mount it +10 of rec

Cats do fine but get mad floppy and kinda scary sometimes.
The 4frnt inthayne rails harder than it has any right to. It's really light tho. Also the CT 4.0 is a blast even when snow isn't soft.
The JJ UL is literally the best ski i've ever owned for powder, he takes literally every impact and floats like unbelieveable. can highly recomend

Honestly I've found I can really get my Magic Js on the rails in some eh conditions. For 127 underfoot, they are surprisingly nimble.

This!
I'm astonished by how versatile this ski is.

Oh, its because I used a regular JJ as a one ski quiver for 5 years, and it worked great. But maybe the UL is a deifferent animal, except the weight.

tru u know I have it +10 of center with pivot 18s set to 6.5
RiplineI decided on a couple of majesty lumberjacks 😁
Actually a really good and really underrated choice, enjoy those dude they’re fire
Not quite 118s but JJs are pretty versatile, not really the UL though
