mtb for me
Skis for sure. Getting trashed on the mountain bike leaves me way more sore the next day.
interesting. i get way more sore from skiing than a full day sending hard on the bike. probably from lower end ski boots etc. i guess...
Probably skis, but I get hurt way more frequently on the bike. It's pretty hard to compare with one being on snow and the other on dirt, rocks, and trees.
In general I definitely ski harder, but weirdly feel more comfortable jumping on my bike. Maybe just because the trails and dirt is generally more consistent than snow?
skis and it's not even close. Way more control with 6ft worth of edge x2 than two creditcard-sized patches of rubber. Plus the snow's soft and the pants/jacket keeps you from getting scratched up to fuck when you crash.
I’m way more calculated on a bike so usually my crashes arnt that bad. But with skiing I’m gettin trashed on a daily and I tend to take more chances cause I’m like oh snow that shits soft
Somehow I send harder on MTB, I wanna think I send hard on skis but I don’t get very many days in my element of powder because of where I live
Beer or guitar, or snowcat.
I am pretty much type 1 skier quality now. But alas the mountain is still fun. Im less sendy and more flowy these days. Also i stay away from bikes these days because I'll turn to dust.

This. Idk what it is. Way better skier than biker. Not the worst biker but I will send much bigger jumps per my skill level on a bike than I will on relative ski skill level.
I guess I have been riding bikes on and off for forever, I just feel comfy on two wheels in the air rather than two skis
glad i'm not the only one

easier to not flail when all your limbs are connected I think is what it is. Can't really roll windows down unless you bail
Skis definitely. Was a different story 16 years ago. Then for a few years it was about equal, now I barely get airborne on the bike but don't mind going big on skis even if I crash.
I used to be equal, then skiing took over. Ive missed the last 4 bike season due to work.
Biking takes a bigger toll on the body.

That's a good point. I do like being attached at the feet and the hands.
Skis hands down, more steeps more tricks, less guts on a bike, I can 3 a bmx but only tail whip my mtb and I’m likely to jam that brake and get tossed on the steeps, on skis it’s like there’s always a way out

I'm into tbat in skating. Going fast in bowls or around parks staying on the ground. Maybe lame but it feels good. I mean you can eat shit in a bowl but feels good to fly around corners.
Like most everyone else I'll say skis.
Doing basic inverts on skis might be equivalent to doing consistent whips on basic tables in my experience. There is a lot of commitment in riding a mountain bike well past a certain level.
All I gotta say is mtb has sent me to the hospital a few times and skiing hasn’t. I’ve taken some nasty slams skiing, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve never had to get what’s left of the skin on my arm pieced back together after a day of park laps.
Definitely send harder on ski
lets put it this say
i haven’t found my limit with skis yet,
I have found my limits on mountain bikes xD
bkbjaminmtb for me
Claim.
if you send harder on mtb than skis you either suck at skiing
or you suck at skiing
whatever u like more im better thaan u at it. fuck u

sounds to me like u suck at both
To put it simply, I would drop a 30 foot cliff on skis. I would not hit a 30 foot drop on my bike.
Skiing in like jumping and speed but like steep tight chutes I’m way more comfortable on the bike

Let me put it this way...
I'm the Tom Wallisch of MTBing and the Greg Minnaar of skiing.
Skis by a long shot. Bike in the air = bad news. I think the last time I tried to jump a bike (well over a decade ago) I ended up with a pedal to the shin. That was the end of that.
bkbjaminsounds to me like u suck at both
Nah brah, it just sounds like you suck at skiing.
the biggest jumps skiers hit are like 10 times the size of the biggest jumps mtbikers hit.
I doubt you have ever hit a mtb jump bigger than 20 ft, so if 20 ft is bigger than anything you have hit on skis,,,,
then like i said, you fucking suck at skiing

Eh. you can't do size to size when comparing mtb and skis. Skis you can almost hit a limitlessly large drop with enough snow. Mtb it's not really like that. Biggest jump ever done on mtb is 141 feet (43 meters) which is still a massive jump in the context of freeskiing.
