There is a summer camp that i can go to to learn basic welding and stuff i kinda want to learn how to make rails and i was wondering if anyone could give me some imput
Welding's super fun to do and a great industry to get in to if you'd like. I'd say go for it.
Yea man, my sister is getting trained for automotive welding and its rad, good money in the industry plus if you get artsy and creative you can make some dope shit
Yes. It’s fun IMO. Even though I wasn’t a science major I registered for the physics dept. machine shop in college just so I could use the tools. I kinda suck at it but learned 3 kinds of welding and mills and lathes. The others were working on science projects and I made some random stuff like a ball point pen lol
my roommates made snow saws
Absolutely. Learning trades is super valuable regardless of if you plan to go into them or not. You never know when you might have to weld something later in life. Take advantage of it if you can!
If you get really good and get all the industry qualifications you can make a healthy living.
Do it! You may enjoy it and it could take you places. I grew up welding on the farm, ended up getting 5G certified(food grade) for my job, made decent money. My wife does it for art. Check out her Insta @_lady_iron she just does it for fun but has made some good side money from it.
YES. I have taken a welding class at school and now if I want to I can build rails, fix stuff that breaks if I need to, and if you live out in the country it's super helpful for fixing fences and other stuff
Welding is a meme and will fuck your body up

Good catch! I will do that!
Even if you don't want to work in the industry learn to weld. Shit is rad. Its awesome to be able to build rails, fix your car, build a shelf, whatever you need. Great skill to have even as a hobby

came in here to more or less echo this. Metal work is a super transferable skill in multiple different industries.
Not welding but, took metal shop in highschool and like 4-5 years down the road I was able to pick up a set of cutting torches and not blow myself up while turning a few bolts into liquid, you never know when some random shit you learned might come in handy.
