I just ordered the freetour conversion + 2nd ski upgrade kit (I'm fucking stoked), what are everyone's experiences with shops mounting these? I know the hole pattern is basically the same as pivots with the exception of two additional holes for the bails/brake locking system, but I also remember reading somewhere that some shops are hesitant to touch them? Not sure, I'm located in Boulder if that makes a difference but I'm willing to drive to Denver if it would mean a better mount....
I'm in here to see how this plays out. I've been looking at this system for about a year and I think it's really cool, but also just saw a thread of a shop dicking a dude over with the mount.
Well If ya can make it up to Slope Style here in Breck, I've mounted a dozen of them already with no issues. I always offer an NS discount as well.
We may actually start selling these soon with their popularity on the rise!

Hell yeah, I always have a quick turnaround time too so you could ski the same day if desired. Appreciate the support.

Can confirm, Slopestyle Breckenridge is the only place I go to get my skis mounted, and Nyles & crew have done numerous CAST's for me. Best ski shop in the nation!

A good mount and supporting a solid shop is definitely worth the drive 👊

how many with QK or BF?
Drop them off with a 6pack to ensure no mounting fuckups

Would you say an 1/8th = a six pack? lol

I would say so, I think its the gesture that matters most, though I know I'd me way more stoked over an 1/8th than a 6 pack
Or a bag of something proper

None. Haven't done either in a few years, they're not that popular these days so it seems.

Heck, I prefer cash tips over weed/beer myself. Then I can buy lunch/dinner. Although I won't say no to those either.
Gave Kevin at the Bachelor shop a fifth of whiskey and he mounted them perfectly

I suppose the consensus is that as long as I don't pullup empty handed they'll get mounted quick and well ;)
@.nasty I just got my p15s and should get my cast soonish, should I do the toe conversion before coming in?

Only if you want to! But there are a few pieces you don’t want in the wrong orientation. I don’t mind doing it whatsoever
I just mounted mine myself. pretty easy.. especially big you already have your skis drilled for P18s, just have to line up the 2 new holes and drill.

Sounds good, I'll be heading up to Slopestyle Sunday so I'll see ya then!

I cant even begin to describe how inapropriate this would be in Norway
FyckrI cant even begin to describe how inapropriate this would be in Norway
I'm norwegian.... so I think I have an idea ;) for some of places though it would be correct, but for most race shops, and my local shop, noop.

More like we pay proper wages (not allowed not to), so a guy working at the local ski tuning shop ( they only do tuning and mounts) , they are like 4? dudes just tuning skis and mounting bindings, actually can make a decent living say 40-50USD an hour, they are not skibum lifestyle people, but actual proffesionals. They have probably mounted 40+ pairs of skis, just for me, and never ever done anything wrong. All tunes are always perfect. They do most of the ski racer stuff around here.
This means they can buy beer or whatever they want, on their normal wages, they dont require tips to live decent.
Also the use of recreational drugs is way way way WAY less than europe, and the US

Haha ill ask my boss
End result:
Slopestyle hooked it up! Solid deal on the mount and a lightning fast turnaround time despite some issues, would recommend going up there if you need to have a cast system mounted
anders_awhat was the issues? my CAST arrives monday
Nothing with the cast system or p15s. These skis used to have p12s on them and one of the screws got stripped and was a little difficult to get out...it ended up resulting in the destruction of one of the toepieces
wowie, at least binding wasnt going out...? :D
Skipeople of the forum, I give you the K2 poacher -2 mounted touring ski, for when you wanna streetski without bootpacking possibly? or resort lift just closed .
I was a bit nervous about the toe, ref other, but at least with skis mounted with bindingfreedom and FCFF01 JIG it seems to work out.
